It very much depends how long I had been with someone, how much I trusted the other person. To be 100 % certain I would recommend that it'd be a good idea to be tested before stopping using condoms, and if I was to ask someone to do that I would also have a test to reassure them. That way, everyone knows where they stand.
That said, some STDs cannot be detected for a long time down the line, and therefore an element of trust will always need to be involved

hey mate, answer regardinging you question asked.
u know going out does not give an open avenue for sex and u have to know that for u to be ready not to use condom in a premarital sex is a huge risk.
well, i think if ur relationship wont be in danger by u asking ur date to go for a test for such diseases, i say this bcos ur date might feel that u don't trust her which is very wrong in a relationship but if she is okay with it then why not. but i'll still say this, no sex b4 marriage.

I would. Being that I am still a virgin and I don't plan to have sex before marriage I do not think I'll run into this problem, but you still should get tested, even before sex WITH a condom, because a condom can break.

it does not matter whether he or she has some disease or not, as long as you wear protection. if the relationship lasts longer than you originally thought and you think of taking it one step further (like marriage or moving in together) you might want to take the test. or not. If you got married to him/her and was to spend the rest of your life with him/her, would it matter that much if you are also contaminated or not?
and if they tested positive, would you stop seeing them because of one mark on a piece of paper??

YES! It's always a good idea! Go to your local Planned Parenthood Center, they often do it for FREE or really cheap!
Thank you for being on of the smart, careful people out there!

One night stand - always wear protection. If you are serious and have been going together for awhile a test is in order.

absolutely better safe than sorry
but be subtle about it say "we'll both get it done for your sake and mine."
They may not have a killer STI but there are other things just for both your sakes get tested...then you can have fun with both your minds at ease.

no need for that..just look at his/her life style..if it's a healthy one, then there should be no problem..but still, it's difficult to tell. that's the real problem of these days. most of peoples are not as they appear to be. i understand for the precautions. if it's the only way, then why not.
