u got a point there, but denial is just part of human nature. (we don't believe what we have no proof for and we question the proof that which we r given)
u can't do anything to change that, hun. always has been, always will be...
that's us!

There were a few references outside the Bible to Jesus, usually in passing -- so we get a bare minimum of corroboration from that.
The "positive" reasons (other than indoctrination as children, etc.) that people believe in Jesus now is:
1. The New Testament record. Jesus' actions and words are admired by many people, even those who don't claim to be Christians. (Most people who reject Christianity do so based not on a bad example by Jesus, but on the bad examples of some who claim to profess belief in Jesus.)
2. Christianity makes sense based on people's current experiences of how love works and what the best style of relationship is with others.
3. People have spiritual experiences that are aligned with what scripture teaches -- in other words, they don't just believe an intellectual faith, they have experienced both hardship and peace in their lives.
4. People have had good experiences with some professed Christians, supporting the idea that what Jesus said was the truth.
This might sound odd to you at first; but even if Jesus never existed, based on what I have experienced in life and the way in which I see and understand how people work and behave, I would end up believing the same things about God that I do right now.
Why do I trust Scripture's record? Not bothering with dry arguments of historical accuracy or the like, I'm an avid reader and writer (and work in technical writing for a living), and the stories in the Gospels are not what you normally see when a religious story is "faked" -- it's not what I see when I read the known forgeries and fake folklore-type stories.
The people are human, real, and usually not shown in the best light. Faith is not simple. People make terrible blunders. The stories "ring true" to me as a human being.
Anyway, you ask a great question, and I appreciate you being open to hearing why some people believe.

Because Jesus specifically warned us not to believe anybody who claimed to be Him in the future. He said that when He returned, everybody in the world would know it beyond a shadow of a doubt. He also flatly claimed to be God, on several occasions. . . the kind of statement which only a raving lunatic could have made, unless it was really true. He obviously wasn't crazy- His words and arguments are full of too much sense for that. Therefore, however incredible it might sound, I have to accept the idea that He was and is God, just as He said. That's why I believe the original one. I disbelieve any newcomers simply because the original one said they would all be phony, and I assume God knows His own plans.

People followed Jesus and believed he was the son of God because of the miracles he performed. I would have trouble believing anybody who says it now without witnessing a miracle, but that's just me. Also, I have read many case studies in psychology in which paranoid schizophrenics believe they are Jesus-- it is a very sought after position!

This is a question that even the most "religious" have dealt with at one time or another. You have to find the answer for yourself.
But if you read the Bible, Jesus performed many, many miracles that a "regular guy" could never perform.
But you must pray and read the Bible for yourself. And then you ccan have your answer for yourself. Remember, God tells us: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; ...
Also, it's always a good idea to find a good Bible-based church where you can attend classes and sermons to answer many of these questions, as well as people to pray with you and for you and to help you find the answers you seek.
Good luck to you in your search for the truth.

Do you mean that Jesus Christ was a man and not the Son of God.
Jesus Christ was the Son of God
And do you also mean that later people will say that a false prophet is Jesus...
There will be false Prophets that imitate Jesus
and many Jews and Muslims will belive in them, and will be lead astray, its a prophesy in the Bible

Why do people believe that there is some guy in the sky controlling everything, but don't believe that you can die and come back as another person?? They both seem way out there, to me.

Because people are so cynical now (and rightly so) that they have seen so many scams, crooks and liars that he'd be considered one of them unfortunately. When Criss Angel can float from building to building then even a real miracle would be suspect as a form of illusion of trickery.

Jesus performed miracles, spoke spiritual truth, talked to God, and had a beauty(inner beauty) about him that no other person could have
