The correct thing to do is hire an attorney have them work out a bail for the failure to appear charge ( that is what the warrant should be for) Then you will have a court date set for the orginal charge and the failure to appear.

Normally a DUI in Cobb county is a licence suspension ( that should have already happened if you failed to appear) so it is most likely your drivers licence is not currently valid ( but that is only my guess)

but normally you will get a fine, have to go to a drivers education class, sometimes they make you do communitcy service. It is not that big of deal if you had just showed up.

If you don't do anything, anytime you get stoped anywhere, the warrant will show up and they will detain you to see if GA will pay for you to be transported to GA, ( COBB county does like to bring people back.

Call the Georgia court to inquire as to whether your warrant is active.

You need to clear it up or you will be held the next time your info is run at a traffic stop. All warrants are run through an Interstate Warrant Management system.

The good thing is if you do get picked up on the warrant, Georgia won't rendite you for a DUI, it's not worth their time or money.

But it will hang out there until you go and clear it up. It will likely take you more than one trip to clear up, unless you call ahead of time and let them know you want to plead guilty. If you plead guilty you will likely be able to clear it up in one visit.

Contact the Police department in Ohio where you now live, explain to them about the warrant and try to work things out between them and the State of Georgia.

ok the best thing to do is to go to the local police and tell them you have a warrant. the will call Georgia and Georgia will decide if it is worth the state paying to have to taking back to Georgia. that way if they do want to pay to have you transferred back the warrant will get taken cair of and it will show good on your part for turning your self in. if Georgia dose not want to pay to have you transferred back there then the police will release you the warrant will still be there and you will get arrested every time you get pulled over or have contact with the police but you will be released every time at least for about 5 years then the price for you goes up and the state of Georgia might pay to have you back and tried. the bast thing to do is just go back to Georgia and deal with it

Listen to Brian P

A former Friend of my Sister was dating a guy that was apparently wanted in Michigan (where I live) my Sister's former Friend and her Boyfriend at the time moved down to Florida for a bit but eventually in due time the former Boyfriend got pulled over in Florida, the Cops did a Computer check and found out he was wanted in Michigan so they sent him back up to Michigan to serve time.

You missed your court date, so there is probably a Bench Warrent out for your arrest. You can run but you can't hide. Try to get this fixed before it sneaks up on you and bites your behind.

Until you get it cleared, you probably won't get a driver's license anywyere. At the very least, you should consult with an attorney to determine your options. It might cost some $$$ but there's a chance that you might be able to get it plead down or at least avoid jail time.

Don't go back to Georgia. If you get picked up on it, claim ignorance and attempt to clear it up as quickly as possible.
