It is the only the only "supposed" white sand beach in Canada, and not really a place in Ontario.
The website to peruse is www.taorino.com , which is down due to absurd amount of traffic, because there is a lot of interest in this resort. The place is a canadian Resort, on a beach, and it is man made with imported sand, and should feature BLUE water (which right now is the big rumour)!
The concept was to draw people away from the south during the spiratic Hurricane season. It will be like your all inclusive resorts, and right now it is still up in the air whether it will allow people who do not stay at the resort hotel onto the beach.
Now here are some of the rumours that I have caught onto so far, since this project has interested me for a while, and I have known some people who have been asked to supply various aspects, and so far it is hush hush, that is why the information is so scarce at this point.
Rumour # 1: It is actually a portion of a river, lake or the sorts that has been cleaned up and where a beach has been installed.
Rumour # 2: This is a new beach, that is being added to a completely new town, which will be more designed as a tourist destination: ie: Casino, beach, Race track, Water partks, ect.
Rumour # 3: This place is a hoax from a bunch of University Kids doing a market or social study of the population. (which I really do not believe personaly....7 signs in and around Montreal, that is a lot of $deniro$ for a hoax.

Now, here is the rub. Construction of this "Palace" is only slated to finish in 2007-2008 arond the summer months. The marketing of this resort has already started, and you can already see billboards up in Quebec, Ontario, Sask, and BC. The place will be the first of 4 "starter" projects (2 in Ontario, 1 in Quebec and one in BC) that should pop-up around the Contry....
That is the inormation that I have so far, and like the rest of you, and am waiting to hear Official Statements as well as have the website up and running before I book my ticket, and if you do see the billboards like the ones that are posted around montreal, the place does look great! Let's cross our fingers, and I will keep posted on any Solid information that I do get.

Yup me to, lived in Ontario my entire 35 years never heard off it and I've been in some pretty small towns.
