I am deaf, so I have some experience in that. It might be that girls don't want to end up having to "take care" of your friends if they chose to date them. It's the idea of "taking care of them physically" that is somewhat of a turn off for many people---both men and women.

Plus, there has to be chemistry (mutual attraction) to start with in order for dating or courtship to begin. It is also that we, the disabled (using that word respectfully), remind them that limb and senses are just as mortal as we are---we can easily lose a limb in an accident or our sense of hearing/sight due to a disease. And that can scare a lot of people.

Tell your friends to hang in there---there are some women who look beyond the disability. :-)

A very sad reality is that we have become a society that is concerned with outward appearances more than true substance.
We buy the hottest looking car.
Gotta have those designer jeans.
Purchase a home in the right area of town.
Attend the Church with the popular Preacher.
Men, the trophy wife.
Women, the trophy husband.
When will we as a society ever learn the books cover often times has nothing to do with the written word inside.
Same goes for people.

Yeah unfortunate it does happen. Like a lot of people look at the outside. My friend was telling me apparently people are attracted to the good looking healthy ones coz of what there offspring will be like. It is sad coz there some blokes who have such nice personalities. Even I'm guilty of it but I am more interested in the guys personality than his looks. But i find it difficult to be with someone if I'm not attracted to they'ree looks. Sometimes I find if I find ther personality attractive the inside the outside starts looking attractive as well.

A lot of women do, yes. Some would just rather have a man that is completely physically healthy.

Your friends are better off without these shallow women. The right ones will come along eventually.

A lot of women do, trust me. But with each rejection they recieve, the more they will look back after finding the perfect women and love her all the more.

Person (man/woman) have to be mature enough to value, what you would call inside qualities.
Probably your friends would not think of dating girls, who are not pretty (read hot) enough by their (guys) standards.
Only with age and experience some people understand " Beauty is in eyes of beholder" .

It is the Darism. People look for healthy mates to pace down healthy genes. This can happen subconscious level.

Because people are really mean. I'm not mean, I'd give anyone a chance unless they had a 'reputation'.
