If someone asks for a piece of gum and you only had one piece left and you were going on a date any minute and you needed it, is it wrong to lie and say you don't have any?
Is this a sin?

To answer that one person's question yes sometimes I try not to step on ants when I walk... poor lil guys lol

If it is your gum you don't need to lie, it is yours to chew. Fight for your gum.

I dunno it doesn't sound a really bad lie. People say all lieing a sin but doesn't sound like a Major sin. But why not just say to them "sorry I only have one piece of gum and I'm going on a date." I think I probably lie 2 or 3 times a day but I never count them. I think some lies are ok if u are doing it to get out of nasty situation or protecting someone from someone horrible. Sometimes I find my self lieing like exaggerating something making it out to be more than it was or make something up which is wrong. I dunno why I do that.

Not very often, and yes about the gum, if you need it, you can just say no i don't have any and that would not be a lie, because you didn't have any you wanted to give away

Oh, forget about this "SIN" crap. Sin is a point of view - it is not fact.
I think it's just dumb to lie about such a thing. Tell the truth that it's your last piece of gum! Or split it!
