How would you go about 'changing your mind' if you are strongly against homosexuality?

Please...this is only hypothetical...no bashers....this is just for a term paper.

I didn't think I'd be able to get a decent answer from the Christians.

i would accept them because they are humans just like us. im not againt homosexuality but i thought that i would answer this anyway. i have no gay family mambers (that i am aware of) but even if i did, i would accept them for who they are! NOT by they're sexual orientation! i also have friends that are gay, i have friends with parents that are gay. and i know that peple who are reading this are probably thinking i am a total loser. but if im a loser for being kind to people, let it be that i am! and i sugest to people to start being kinder because if something should happen like a family mamber or child or somone close like a friend or something like that turn out to be gay, then what would you do? would you just shove them off because they told you the truth? i woulnt! i hope people will reconsider what they think about gays.

Jesus never told people to hate gay people or treat them any differently than anyone else. Jesus told people to love everyone as a brother. Christianity is about loving others and showing them how to have a relationship with Christ. If they decide to have a relationship with Christ, then their lifestyle choice is between them and God and no one else should care. Christians believe homosexuality is a sin yes but, in God's eyes, WE HAVE ALL SINNED, so gay people are the same as the Christians! The only difference is that Christians have a personal relationship with Christ, which means God will forgive them if they change. God loves everyone the same, regardless of how they live. And we should too.

The New Testament doesn't say one word about homosexuality so it couldn't have been to important as far as Jesus was concerned. He did speak a lot about helping the poor though but if He did come down and told us to accept gays then, me being a follower of Christ would have to go along with it.

Jesus taught us to love everyone. but not the sin. Not just homosexuality, but any sex outside of marriage is a sin, as well as lot of other things, read the 10 commandments So, we have all sinned. Also God never expected us to be able to keep the 10 commandments, they were just to show us that we need a savior. So He sent Jesus, and if you accept His payment for your sins (dying on the cross, and rising again on the 3rd day) Then you will have eternal life with him in heaven, if you do not....(and not deciding is chosing) then you will spend eternity in hell.

I would know immediately that he was not Jesus but a false prophet. Jesus says you know people by the fruit they bare and the Bible makes it clear that homosexuality is an abomination before God. And Jesus said for us to follow God's commndments. However we are to love and accept everyone as they are. You do not have to agree with someones choices in order to love them. You can only pray that they will come to God and change in their own time.

i'm Christian and that i completely settle for homosexuality as wide-spread. one in all my sturdy acquaintances is a lesbian, and that i had yet another close chum in intense college that replace into gay. i do no longer permit a e book rule my life, even yet it does function preparation sometimes. i do no longer permit it truly is the inspiration for all of my concepts. i think each and every person, regardless of race or sexual orientation, deserve equivalent comprehend and therapy. The Western ideals on gender is amazingly slender, and that i found out from anthropology that there are truly approximately 5 genders and distinctive cultures decide for to settle for them or no longer. Sorry, have been given astray a sprint on the tip. yet my factor is I do settle for homosexuality as component of being a common individual, and not some ludicrous being that some people have faith.

Jesus already did say to love everyone. That's everyone, no exceptions.

BUT. . .we're to hate sin just as much as He does. He calls homosexuality an abomination.

If you want a Biblical standpoint, you should go to crosswalk.com and look up fornication. . .that'll bring up a lot on sexual sins. . .look up men with men and women with women. . .look up the word abomination. . .you'll find a lot of this stuff.

The message of Jesus is, love the sinner, hate the sin. Accept the people, not the act.

First it could not happen of course since the true Christ, true God can not change, thus gay life style could never been acceptable, so it wouldnot be Jesus saying this, there are many churches saying it is ok, now, but of course we realise it is a lie merely so they can get thier membership and of course thier donations.

But they should be respected as people, since they are, and we should love them as a backslided brother, who does not reaslise they are living in sin.

If I believed in Christianity I guess I would
I mean if he freed you from your sins and if he's here to guide you to the right life then you should follow him right?
but being that I just think that's all bs. I think that one person that you've never seen, hangs around in the clouds with a man of immaculate image shouldn't dictate what you think of anyone, anything at all. And the fact that gay people don't think any less of straight people should be enough to rid people of their ignorance and prejudice.

First thing I would do would be to find someone who is of that sexual preference and talk with them. You can learn quite a bit about a person by talking with them. Once I have talked to them I would try to see the world through their eyes. For example, think how it feels when someone judges you like many gay individuals are judged. One of my best friends is bye so the whole issue has never bothered me and I am Roman Catholic.
