Vitamin C enhances iron absorption from plant sources -- drink orange juice with iron-rich foods.

Tea with meals can act as an iron blocker.

Other iron blockers include carbonates, oxalates, and phosphates. Foods that contain these iron blockers include, cranberries, rhubarb, spinach, and soda

am anemia to all she have to do is eat some liver its very good. i didnt want to eat it but when i tryed it, it was good. it suppose to help you so you can have iron in your body. or she can take what i take are little red iron pills the doctor gave me that may just help. and eat lots of fruits

Meat, Brocolli, Beans, Spinach, Dark Chocolate. She should also take a combination Iron and Vitamin C supplement. Ferrograd C is great.

It is very important to know which kind of anemia your daughter has. I'm surprised her doctor has not related the specific facts of her particular anemia. There is no one set treatment. Call your doctor. .Tests made and evaluations for treatment are most important for her well being. A balanced diet is important, but laboratory tests can identify specific needs.

No one can give her a better nutrition plan than a Dr. But first u have to find out the root of the problem, sometimes anemia is not the problem, its a symptom, take her to the Dr. asap so she can get good help, she'll b ok. Good luck.

Foods rich in iron are red meats, especially liver. Spinach also has a lot of iron.

Your Dr didn't teach you? Grrrrr.... Well first I would say call the Dr that diagnosed the anemia and make them explain it (because it is part of their responsiability to make sure their patients know what to do to treat their diease) and since you said she needs iron I am guess you were at least told it's iron-deficency-anemia. So here is a little bit for you

molasses is also an excellent source of iron.

She needs a good diet from a reputable physician...but for starters, lots of dark green leafy vegetables (spinach, kale, etc), liver, raisins, figs, meat.
