I have a gay friend who's attractive with an awesome personality. We're fairly close - we hold hands, give greeting kisses - stuff most close friends do. He says he's not attracted to females and no female can turn him straight. However, a few weeks ago he told me if he was straight, he'd want to date me. I didn't take him seriously, so I just smiled it off. Several days ago, he told me he wanted to become "straight" for a while to date me. He asked me to consider if I would date him in such case. I know that I'll get hurt in the end, but I can't help to notice that I'm actually starting to fall for him. However, he told our friend that he has no straight tendencies - yet, he constantly asks for my approval to date his "straight side." I curiously asked how many females he's asked this - he said he only considered two, plus myself. Is he trying to play a practical joke on me? How do I get over this?

Many of the gay guys are attractive guys unfortunately. I doubt he'll turn straight, so face the fact and try to move on or else you'll be waiting around and missing a lot of other good relationships and experiences. I'm not saying to ditch him as a friend just romatically...

Maybe he thinks he can just choose what gender to be attracted too. Unless he is bi, or unless you have some seriously male characteristics, it won't work. I bet he wants it to work too. If you are straight and he is gay, it WON'T work. Thats probably WHY you could become such close friends. When that sexual tension is really there it always gets in the way of just plain nice freindship. He's probably serious but catch yourself before you fall too much. Treat him like a girlfriend I suggest.

I am sure he is BI with stronger tendencies towards men.
Have fun with it! In what other relationship can you be with two guys at once and not be thought of as a whore?
Control your own emotions!
Do not fall into that horrible cycle where every time he has a bad relationship he comes running to you because that can leave you feeling pretty used in the end.
Most Importantly, be safe, use condoms!

PS: Watch allot of Wil & Grace!

If he is your true friend, I hope he wouldn't play a joke on you like that. Sounds to me that he may be questioning his sexuality? I can understand falling for a friend, regardless of sex or sexual preference. I would say NO, don't go for it. Because if you truely have feelings like that & he is just using you as an experiment, you are going to hurt yourself. Good luck. -a-

If you can fall into something, you can climb back out......
just tell him you don't believe in premarital sex.
