The phone worked well last evening. You can call out and answer calls. It does not have seperate batteries for display and the phone is less then 6 months old. No I did not drop it or flush it down the toilet as some have suggested.

The LQD Display prob has a bad connection, if it is still under warranty talke it back and get another one. Since it will prob cost as much to repair the phone as get a new one (if the warranty has expired) just get a new phone or "suffer" through using the broken one. Sometimes prolonged exposure to sunlight (leaving the phone on a window sill for example) can damage the LQDs and make them unreadable, they are still being displayed, but they can no longer be seen. You have to change the batteries. The batteries run the programming and the works of the phone, but the ring and the ability to hear and chat on the phone are powered by the miniscule amount of electricity on phone lines.

How old is the phone? Has it been on charge long enough, dropped or anything? The batteries can die on them eventually, will work enough for a call but may now power up the screen....

Sounds like the LED crystal went dead. They're cheap anyway. Just buy another. Just like DVD players, microwave ovens and the list goes on. Electronics are cheap for the most part. We've become a throw away society.

Even with our spouses. Bet you can name at least three people you know that are divorced.

That didn't quite answer your question but that sure got a load off my chest. Thanks!

This happened to me. Come to find out, it was a poor quality phone. They don't last forever ya know. I would go to Radio Shack, or some place that has phone knowledge, and get a higher quality phone.

Hmmmm. Did you drop it in the toilet? Spill coffee or chocolate milk on it? Have your teething baby suck on it repeatedly?
Unscrew casing, swab all of the busing lines (pretty copper ribbons) with rubbing alcohol, and the connectors and then screw it back together. Does it work now?

My mom said they had a similar problem and it started working again after she cleaned the phone and charging stand really well.

I know it sounds crazy but that's what she said.

you should take the phone back if it is not too old like more than a year or so. if it is than buy a new phone. or you can just deal with it.
