He's given you 13 days and that's almost twice the time "God" used to create the earth. What God created in 7 days you should be able to atleast accomplish your task in 13 days. Use the wisdom that was taught to you at the seminary and I'm sure the good Lord will be standing by giving you alittle push. I foiled myself when I was given the chance to become a minister but I'd didn't feel I was worthy of the ministry at the time. I have different thoughts today as I served my country for over 20 years in the military and now wonder if my services to God would have made me feel more worth while then what I accomplished during my life time. God must have given you the light to enter the ministry so add fuel to the fire within you and complete what you started.

What is your passion? Why did you decide to become a preacher? How did the lord enter your life and how did this influence your decision? People will be interested in you and your reason for becoming a preacher. Good Luck--you will do fine!

My advice to you is to stop focusing on yourself. Start focusing on others particularly those in your parish/ministry/church.

Who have you met? Who is interesting/intelligent/inspiring to you? How do they remind you of God and God's gifts to the world? Where do you find inspiration? How do you express God's love? How do you see others doing this? Look to the world around you and tell about what you see and how it applies to God, or rather how God applies to it. Quit focusing on yourself and your nervousness. Don't make it all about you, but the parishioners you serve to inspire.

You will do fine. The first time public speaking is the hardest. It will get easier and easier each time. Oh, and don't forget to be up front about this being your first public sermon and that you're nervous. They will understand.

You have been called to serve. Serve what you know . If you are worried about nerves, I had the same problems when I began to teach. My voice would sound weird and I would shake. Then I realized that the students were there to learn what I know. Let all the other stuff go-judgements - and speak about what you know. You will do fine. Deep breath between sentences helps too.

Well, for starters, instead of sitting on your tush "waiting" for God to give you an answer, why don't you do some footwork!

God helps those who help themselves.
Faith without works is dead.
DO something.
