Generally, a shoulder width grip is best. A close grip works the triceps more while a wide grip works the chest more, but it's different for everybody. You can tell by looking at the pump you get. One day do wide grips, the next day do medium grip, the next do narrow and compare the pump you get. Most bodybuilders think flys work the pectoral muscles better. Some don't even do benches. They do incline benches instead. That is what Steve Reeves used.

definitely wider for full chest workout...make sure that u also work in close grip because that will help fill out and strengthen the inside of ur pecs...as well as make sure to hit all the cable flyes to accentuate the bench press

If you are trying to make your chest bigger, then you should alternate between grips on a weekly (biweekly) basis. Changing the grip will work different sections of the muscles in your pecs and make the entire area look bigger than if you simply used one type of grip. More bang for you buck, so to speak.

The most comfortable one.
The wider grip decreases your range of motion and the closer - decreases stability.
Find the most comfortable for you.
