if you live in a city that has a strong indian community with travel agents specifically for india, go there first, they will always have the best deals if they are themselves from india. If not....gorilla air.com. Try flying somewhere like Heathrow first, (London) and then fly from thewre. All direct flights will cost you an arm and a leg. Do the layover thing and just get to Europe....the prices drop soooo much once you've crossed the ocean trust me.

travel air india (it's like the greyhound of all airlines!)
from usa: take flight to canada (toronto is where air india works out of for north america); cheapest way is airtran or southwest
