Cash vs. Credit Card
Cash:
Pros - It's accepted everywhere. You look like a pimp when you pull out a fat wad of ones wrapped in a twenty.
Cons - It's dirty. If you lose it, anyone can spend it. You have to drive to an ATM to get it. There's no insurance on your purchases. You aren't rewarded in any way for spending it. You're more likely to be mugged if someone knows you're carrying it. If it's not in your bank, it isn't earning you ineterest.
Credit Cards:
Pros - It's accepted almost everywhere already, and more places are taking them everyday. Your purchases are insured. If you lose it, you can cancel it before anyone goes on a shopping spree, not to mention they're hard to use if you're not the card holder. You can earn rewards like skymiles or cash back for using it and you're not required to hold a balance. You pay no interest if you pay it off every month. You're cash can stay in the bank all month long and earn you dividends while you do your day to day shopping with the credit card earning rewards. You always have exact change. They take up less space in your wallet. You can manage everything about your credit card online easily.
Cons - There are still some mom & pop shops that don't take them. If you aren't a disciplined spender it's easy to spend more than you can afford to pay off in one month, leaving you paying interest. High credit limits can get you in debt trouble if you aren't careful.
Basically, credit cards have become just like cash, but with fewer disadvantages and more perks. They're the wave of the future. Pretty soon everything will be purchased using some form of credit or debit card because of their convenience, safety, and rewards programs.

If you don't have cash, then you don't have cash. Most places accept debit cards so why would you take time out of your busy day to stop by the bank when you don't have to. Do you like to waste time? Or do you just have no life? I think it's the latter.

Points, points, and more POINTS!! I use an American Express card for everything!!! All those so called $5 purchases add up to major points over the years. Use the points for plane tickets, hotel stays, merchandise....you name it. If you haven't heard of this you need to check it out! But remember, most all American Express cards must be paid in full every month!

I dunno... I have only used the debit card, which is no interest.
I think people do use credit cards and especially at McDonald's is because we are a: "I WANT TO HAVE IT RIGHT NOW" society--(therefore the debt problem) and so we have no money cause we are living paycheck to paycheck... and plus we are always on the run spending the paycheck to paycheck money that we have to go through McDonald's and get fatter and fatter and slower and slower and more and more unhealthy... more depressed... making us want to spend more of that paycheck to paycheck money and so on and so forth... and then ya die..

It could be a debit card, for which you use your own money but when you use the eftpos you select "credit" also maybe I dont have cash on me right now so I use my card, then again when did you become my accountant?

I sometimes use a debit, but it is so I can keep track of all of my expenses, it helps me to know when I am blowing too much cash. As far as a credit card, no, I wouldn't use one.

That is all I have. I don't carry cash because, 1) I spend it to fast. 2) I lose cash as in I get money from ATMs and they disappear.
