ok we all agree that Phil blew it. In fact he called himself an idiot(but yes what would he say)We can all agree too that Monty choaked a bit also, but I heard nothing about Furyk missing a pretty makeable putt that would of put him in a playoff.

If Furyk wouldn't of took an hour playing all of the last of his 10 shots or so. especially the par putt on 18. Jeez it took him 10 mins to hit that putt. and it was like a 5 foot putt. Phil blew it by the decision off the tee, Monty blew it by hitting a stinker of a 2nd shot but like I said NO ONE said anything about Furyk missing a 5 footer.

I think they're all tired. The course is mentally exhorted for players like walking on a rope for 5-6 hours... I hate winged foot, used to live close to it.

Mr. Furyk did indeed miss a putt which would have put him in a playoff. However, Phil has the uncanny ability to over play when he under pressure. It is like his brain shuts down. Just as the announcers said, all he had to do was play down the middle with a 3 or 4 "wood", not try to win a longest drive contest. Therefore, it was Phil's to blow, because he had the lead.

I think they all made mental errors and Mickelson if he would have hit more fairways might have only been + 2 or 3 but he made some shots that would make you cringe! The Furyk missed putt was not like hime he normally makes those and Mickelson on the 18th should have used a 1 iron and he might not have sliced it so bad! then he second shot on 18 Mickelson should have chipped out to fairway then used a iron to get on green! But i geuss he will be thinking about those things today what if i could have done it different!

You didn't hear much about Furyk because he wasn't leading going into the final hole. Phil had the Open won, all he had to do is play for par. He is a moron and that's why he didn't win.

I thought Furyk was gripped too... but Phil had an almost Normanesque choke.

Phil was trying to be the New Phil and reverted to Old Phil.

Jim is just Jim.
