There are many species in the world that resemble one another. For instance, there may be many living beings resembling a horse or a cat and many insects may look like one another. These similarities do not surprise anyone. The rhinoceros beetle and the rhinoceros also share certain superficial resemblances but it would be ludicrous to seek to establish some kind of an evolutionary link between these two creatures, one being an insect and the other a mammal, on the grounds of that resemblance. The superficial similarities between men and apes do signify nothing. Other than superficial similarity, apes cannot be said to be closer to man than to other animals. Actually, if level of intelligence is considered, then the honeybee producing the geometrically miraculous structure of the honeycomb or the spider building up the engineering miracle of the spider web can be said to be closer to man. They are even superior in some aspects.

Superficial? When we share over 95% of our DNA?
Comparing the rhinoceros to the rhinoceros beetle is facetious, as man gave both the rhino and the beetle their names. There is nothing inherently similar about them, except that the person who named the rhino beetle was struck by the nose horn on the insect resembling that of the rhino. That's like comparing a lightening bug to a lightening strike.
If you want to think you are more closely related to a honeybee or a spider, go ahead. That's the kind of thinking that keeps apes where they are on the evolutionary scale.

Wow, that has to be one of the greatest (and by greatest I really mean worst) examples of psuedo(that means fake)-science I can think of. Do you really understand Evolution at all? Do you know anything of the Molecular Clock? It's a tried and proven method of determining when things evolved from each other, and yes, evolution is a fact, we can see it all around us and in the lab. Evolution from ape anscestors to man is a very strongly scientifically backed theory. Do some research on something that isn't biased like wikipedia or something along those lines.

You don't read much, do you? Evolutionists don't just look at apes and go, "Oh look! They've got a thumb, too! We must be related!" The theory of evolution is based on more than mere appearances. Check out evidence from the fossil record, from genetic sources (similar DNA structure), from embryology (similar fetal development), and from experimentation, and they all concur: we are more closely related to apes than to any other living creature. But we're ultimately related to them all!

Do you consider similarities in DNA sequence to be superficial also? Because we have more DNA in common with gibbons than with mice or fruit flies. But we still have DNA in common with fruit flies; how do you explain that?
Do you deny the things that all mammals have in common?
Don't all birds have feathers, and couldn't they all have had one feathered ancestor?

These are not simple "superficial" similarities between Man and our Great Ape cousins.
These are distinct morphological and genetic (ERVs) similarities, whose negation is almost nonsensical.

It attracts attention because if the THEORY of evolution were to be true... then, there is nothing bigger than man to be accountable to and then.... anything goes... as long as it doesn't hurt someones feelings.
