Joseph (OT) - He was oppressed by his brothers, due to their jealousies. He eventually got the opportunity to even the score, and better still - To set the "RIGHT EXAMPLE!" When he got in a position of power, and had the choice to get even, or to 'turn the other cheek' - and forgive his oppressors.
...than there's the story of the Hebrews, who were oppressed by the Egyptions. (you know, the story of MOSES!) lol
and another one would be Daniel...or maybe shadrack, meshak, and ambendigo would be more familiar to title this story. They tried to oppress Daniel from praying to God...we all know how that one turned out! lol...
did you want references too? (Leave a note...and if so, I'll include references.)
I just noticed somebody else had the same ones listed...wow! Out of all the stories in the Bible, I find it ironic that almost everyone thinks along the same lines....hmmm? (Must be a 'Holy Spirit' thing.)
God Bless.

I would list the Israelites over the Egyptians
David and Goliath could be seen as an example in addition to the more common "triumph against all odds" connotation.
Of course there are numerous examples of Christ's victory over many things, oppression included. His victory over Satan in the Wilderness, over the Saduccees and Pharissees in the temple, his victory over death in the tomb, and his victory over Satan and the forces of evil in Revelation.
The apostles have some pretty inspiring victories in the book of Acts as well.

Um...how about the oppression of women, guys? Like how God allowed a woman to be the first witness to the Resurrection?! Or how Jesus spoke to the woman at the well when she was ostracized from her community?
