You can go to any check cashing business and buy a prepaid MasterCard or Visa Debit Card and have it loaded with as much money as you care to. The money can be spent any place that accepts debit cards, which is virtually anywhere. Many people, about 60 million in the USA, do not have bank accounts or charge cards. This method of payment is gaining in popularity on a daily basis. You can shop in stores, on the Internet, or even travel with these cards. Once you are running low on money, you can go to any check cashing store and have the same card reloaded with new money. Just recently, they began allowing you to transfer money from a credit card or bank account to these debit cards. The other positive to using these is that if you are a victim of identity theft, there is a limited amount of damage that can happen. They can be cancelled at any time.

The credit card company charges monthly interest based on your unpaid monthly balance. These charges accrue whether or not you make a payment. Charges can be eliminated by paying off the entire balance each month before the due date. If you are referring to annual card fees, get another credit card from the many companies that don't charge annual fees. If you have a large balance on your card and can't pay it in full, talk to your bank manager about a personal loan to pay the card off. Cards company's charge up to 30% interest compared to bank loans which are usually about a third of that.

Look for credit cards that do not charge a monthly fee even if you do not use them. You should shop for the lowest rate cards and take advantage of offers such as balance transfers from high rate cards and try to pay off the balance each month.
