I recently went to a bank to professional investors concerning an investment I would like to make. Upon my meeting the investment counselor, I firmly shook his hand...
During the session, he saw me wipe my nose with a tissue several times.
As I got up to leave, he wanted to shake my hand. I refused, stating I had a runny nose/cold.
After I left I felt weird like I should have just shook his hand and then let him worry about his own germs..
What is the proper etiquette here? If someone sees you wipe or blow your nose are you supposed to be shaking hands? It is a professional transaction afterall, and important to do so.
