Uniqua is her name and her species. She’s graceful, agile, and as light on her feet as a ballerina. But when it comes to playing, she’s more “adventure” than “ballet.” Unafraid and daring, Uniqua loves to run, climb, and ride her bike faster than anyone. She also loves to tell silly jokes, make silly noises, and tickle her friends. Yes, Uniqua is mischievous, but she’s also sweet – she knows whether her friends are happy or sad, and she’ll always say something to show that she cares.
OK, so that is what NickJR says---SOOOOOO I am supposing that she is a ficticious species of animal. All I know is that my 3 youngest kids (all under 4) LOVE her--- it gives me 30 whole minutes to bathe and put on makeup in the morning with only moderate supervision from my 17 year old. Anything that can do that for a mother of 8 children (altogether), is a GREAT animal :D:D:D

I am not sure but some possibilities are a slug, a dinosour relative or something, a snail without a shell.

She's pink and walks upright... so probably a made-up one! As someone else posted, she is probably meant to teach the importance of accepting everyone, no matter how "different" they may seem.
