Because they don't actually follow the teachings well. It says, "Judge not lest you be judged," and that is what they are supposed to do. Since they are not perfect people (and neither are you for slandering all Catholics), they will act on it. I do my best to not judge people without seeing their actions.

As a Christian I am not supposed to follow you around watching you like a 3rd Riche Brown Shirt screaming writing down every sin you commit then have you verbally beaten and flogged... as tempting as that may be...heh-heh.

On a serious note - a Christian's job is to warn people of the consequences of sin and give them the Good News.., there is a way to escape those consequences! BUT we are not to hound you and dog you, following your every step. If anyone is following you around like that - call the cops and have them arrested as a stalker because frankly, anyone doing that its not a Christian problem but a mental problem.

Why should we even bother? For the same reason you would warn someone about faulty wiring or other dangerous situation a person might face. If they died because you did not warn someone of such dangers, you would be guilt ridden (assuming you are a normal human being).

At some point I suppose it can look like we are chasing people around like Amway Salesmen. Okay - bad example - but you know what I mean. Instead of being hateful, understand where they are coming from - Christians not Amway salesman.., Amway salesmen scare the jeewillibees outta me <>

FOR THE RECORD (or FYI)
I'm not Roman Catholic. I'd rather be an Amway Salesman

Everyone interprets the bible for their own needs. Being the smartest bible scholar is like being the smartest one with Down's Syndrome. The bible is a sick hate preaching violent book!

It's human nature (NOT limited to the religious) to "judge" different behavior. By the way, condemning them for interpreting the Bible for their own needs sounds pretty judgmental too!

then why do you Judge Catholics and extremely religious people if you know that only God can judge? You're sick.

The Catholics have a messed up religion- that's as far as I'm going on that topic.

As for religious people, they think they are holier than other people I guess, and God says that's wrong. Their self-righteous, and God judges THEM on being that way.

There is great conflict in the Christian world over whether or not the commandment "judge not lest ye be judged" is greater or lesser than the several places in the new testament where Christians are told to rebuke the fallen.

I have noticed that too! Whenever I visit my in-laws (who pride themselves on being extremely religious) it is a constant critisizing people they know, have seen and don't know etc. on how they are not as holy as they are (they don't put it that way -- but that's what it is!) I think some "religious" people use it as a way to make themselves feel superior. I hate that, because I know Jesus is just cringing! (Of course, he's probably also cringing that I'm bad mouthing my relatives right now.)

You yourself condemn some people for judging yet your judging people now. Take the plank out of your own eye before you try to take the splinter out of your brothers eye. Or maybe i should say let he who is without sin cast the first stone. Don't condemn people for doing something then turn around and do it.
