To love EVERYONE. It doesn't matter what their color, religion or language. Do not judge. Just love all people. Love people for the good inside and forgive them when they do evil. Let God judge them.

I couldn't choose one best lesson. I learned the value of education, the importance of a loving family, the importance of discipline, how beneficial it is to save money and to invest it, appreciation of the outdoors and nature, how important it is to remain faithful to your spouse and that marriage is for keeps, how to laugh, how to play whiffle ball in the back yard, how good hotdogs and s'mores are when cooked over a fire of burning leaves with your siblings and all the neighbor there, etc, etc, etc.
The older I get and the longer I strive to raise a good family, the clearer it becomes that my parents were incredible people.

My mother always told me , If we want to find happiness. let's stop thinking about gratitude or ingratitude and give for the inner joy of giving. She wanted me to be thankful for what I had and express my gratitude to others. I guess it worked because I have told my children the same and they are doing quite well. I hope this helped.
