Well, generally men have the desire to propagate the species by making progeny as prolifically as they can. At least that was the way it needed to be back when we more like animals. I think men still have the desire, but the more mature men have that feeling and don't act on it. Some will say they can't help it, given certain circumstances, but, everyone has a choice, even if they have to refuse advances from Angelina Jolie.
Commitment is serious and scary, even to women. So, I'd say yes we are scared of commitment, but that makes the commitment a greater prize. If you are lucky enough to ever receive a man's solid attempt at commitment, it will be strong because of the fear that was overcome to give it in the first place.
Keep hope. A man will want you so much that they will risk committing. In the meantime you may need to address issues that may be putting off the mature males that can commit. Ask yourself, "Am I doing something that rejects mature men and attracts the wrong kind?" Be brutally honest with yourself and if you see a need to change for the better, get after it.

Well as you know women do mature faster than men do. So when we're ready to settle down and have a family, they still want to party hard and go bed-hopping as for some women as well. Although I don't think that its so much of the whole committment part of the deal, I think its more on the lines that they're afraid to mess up the relationship by saying or doing something wrong and that scares them. Some men and women wish to wait for the right person to come along, but even when they do it's still hard for them knowing that they're dedicating their lives to another person not just themselves anymore. They're afraid of losing the right girl, making her change her mind about them so that would be like an excuse for the guy to not make that kind of committment just yet, because the girl just wasnt ready, but we women know differently. Men are afraid to mess up the relationship and losing the girl, but they usually don't admit something like that. I'm not afraid to commit, I'm getting married July 1, 2006 so only a few more weeks. I'm a lil nervous more than anything, but I know that I can do it. I hope i helped you out a lil bit with that question.

It's a way of life for some guys.
They're into puddy and that's all they want.
But really I think you're just going after the wrong guys. There are plenty of guys out there that would love to get married to a beutiful girl and settle down to have kids. You're just not looking in the right places.

I guess u had a bad experience... well anyway, it all depends on the guy and how old he is. My husband wasn't insecure at all, he wanted to find a girl, date her and marry her, I was the second girlfriend he ever had. Some men are good believe it or not. I hope you will find a man that will treat u the way you deserve to be treated. Best of luck!

Only if commitment means a tight white jacket with really longs sleeves and lots and lots of Thorazine!! LOL Seriously though I would assume that some are. There are lots of people that fear that, men and women alike. I personally don't fear it. I just wish I could meet a woman that isn't
