When I was growing up, there was a candy called Zots. You can still buy them at vintage candy sites. They are hard candy on the outside, but when your saliva mixes with the inside substance, it basically foams and feels like sparks. They were great! I actually ordered some last year so my niece and nephews could experience them.

It's Certs Spearmint or Wintergreen, maybe both. We used to do it in school. Glad to know I'm not the only uncool person here.
