She's into soccer, softball, tween movies and actors, Harry Potter, arts and crafts, music (but I don't know what kind---I've already done the iTunes gift card), dogs and cats. She babysits my two young daughters, who love her. This is for her "eighth-grade graduation" and she will be attending a competitive private high school in the fall. I'm looking to spend around $30.

Any other kind of gift card. Particularly Barnes & Nobel, Circut City, Target, etc...

Barnes & Noble Gift Cards are good, but I'd give her a little more than $30. Don't give her clothes- it's hard to get someone's style, and to get the right size. Jewelry is always good. I'd stay away from music, movies and books though because, just like clothes, it's hard to get someones style. If you know her well, movies and books could be good.

Get her a gift basket filled with a Blockbuster or Hollywood video gift card, microwave popcorn, boxed movie candies, soda, and maybe even a couple of movie theater passes and certificate to get concessions. That's the ticket!

Bath and Body works. She will love it. All her little friends are probally using that stuff already. My neice is in the 9th grade, and I just found out she is begging her mom to buy her stuff from there. Her friends are giving her some of their stuff. So, I let her take some of mine. She was sooooooooo happy. Girls love smelly pretty things. Even the athletic ones!

well she is too old for toys, and too young for champagne, this is a tough one. Why not try buying her a cute purse, or something from Hello Kitty, if this helps, for my graduation i got a hamster that sang "get the party started" and i loved it, try to get her something that is graduation related, that way it you cant go wrong.
oh and don't worry, if it were me, i would not spend over thirty dollars on anybody's graduation unless she were my own daughter:)

Does she get her nails done? A gift certificate to the nail salon is always a nice gift.

Movie Passes. Theyre the best thing for 8th graders becuase they love going with their friends and such. And the movies cost soo much these day. So to get some passes will be very appreciated.
