Yes. The Southern Baptists came to be because they wanted to preserve slavery while northern Baptists favored abolition.

Just because the KKK say they are true Christians, does that make it true?
After all, if I call myself an ostrich, does that mean I am an ostrich?
Just because someone says they are this or that, doesn't mean they are.
And what is your justification for saying that "many" Christians "hate hinduism and islam"? I'm a regular on Yahoo Answers, and I'm sorry, but I don't see what you are talking about.
My short answer to your question is: of course not.

Just so you know, racism is very different from debating other religions. The KKK was not a Christian organization, it was a Southern group who started out as sacaring the carpetbaggers from the North but soon took it too far and became a racist group. According to the Bible we are all of "one blood" and therefore equal, God does not look at the outside, but at the heart.

In true Christianity there is no room for racism. Sadly though as humans we all struggle with sin. (racism is one form) I believe that God loves us all and that Jesus died on the cross for everyone's sins regardless of race, sex, and financial status. I also raise my children to know this. I feel like some racism is brought o by the actions of some in the past. Some find it hard to forgive and some choose not to. Jesus says he will forgive us when we ask...how can we ask for forgiveness if we do not forgive others? There is no way to determine how deep racism runs as Christians we MUST pray for the good Lord to guide our thought sand actions in every move we make.

A Christian has made Jesus Christ Her/His Lord and Savior.
We (Christians) are washed in His Spirit, cleansed by His blood. Joint heirs with Jesus as We travel this sod. We are part of the family, the family of God. Christians comes from all nations.
Jesus hates other doctrines that prevent people from learning His truth or would try to lead His church astray. Jesus loves the people of this world (people of all races) that He gave His life for them. He said, "Drink of this cup, fruit of the vine. This is my blood that is shed for many for the remission of sins.".
Jesus is not a racist, so a true follower of Him would not be a racist. In the bible the false prophet is the first to go into the lake of fire. The false prophet is the one that prevents people from hearing a good word about Christ; That tries to lead people away from God.
Race in not religion. So true Christians love God & their neighbors. They love the Truth. Love rejoices in the truth. Love finds no joy in lies. So the false doctrines have to go.

Christianity absolutely does NOT allow for racism.
For more information, please see The Gospel of Matthew, The Gospel of Mark, The Gospel of Luke, and The Gospel of John.
Here's a quick quote to get you started:
Joh 13:34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
Joh 13:35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
hint: if you wanna know who are "true Christians", look for the love, Hun.

Matthew 23:37-39
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind
This is the great and foremost commandment.
The second is like it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
1 Peter 3:8
To sum up, all of you be harmonious, sympathetic, brotherly, kindhearted, and humble in spirit,
not returing evil for evil or insult for insult, but giving a blessing instead; for you were called for the very purpose that you might inherit a blessing.
My brother -n- law shot and killrd my litter sister and than himself and left 3 kids behind. I don't hate him, I hate the act he did. The Lord forgave me of all my sins and to God sin is sin, no matter if it is stealing or murder. I loved my brother-n- law and if he was alive I would tell him that. I have turned my life around after it happened and I thank God for my trials in life. It makes my faith stronger in the Lord that he knows what's best for me.

True christians do not hate people. Claiming to be a true christian does not make one a true christian. Racism goes against the teaching of the Bible. Jesus said you will know His followers by their "fruit" and by their love.

No I am a christian and I will tell you right now that God does not look kindly on racism, and I don't think it is good either. It says,
John 3:16
That God so loved the WORLD (meaning everyone not just whites, blacks, hindus, muslims, ect.) The WORLD that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.

No because if you really knew the Bible and what it teaches you can clearly see the difference. People are always going to claim Christianity to back up what they believe because of how their leader or they interpreted the Bible. Its sad how people take one part and not the other.

First off hating Hinduism or Islam is not racism, as those are not races they are religions, any one who is of one creed obviously rejects others but it is wrong to hate the people who practice them. It would be wrong to hate an Indian or an Arab if that's what you mean, that is racism.
Love your neighbor as yourself!
The Parable of the Good Samaritan, Luke 10
25On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. "Teacher," he asked, "what must I do to inherit eternal life?" 26"What is written in the Law?" he replied. "How do you read it?" 27He answered: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind'; and, 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'" 28"You have answered correctly," Jesus replied. "Do this and you will live."
29But he wanted to justify himself, so he asked Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?" 30In reply Jesus said: "A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he fell into the hands of robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead. 31A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. 32So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. 33But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. 34He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, took him to an inn and took care of him. 35The next day he took out two silver coins and gave them to the innkeeper. 'Look after him,' he said, 'and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.'
36"Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?" 37The expert in the law replied, "The one who had mercy on him." Jesus told him, "Go and do likewise."
More references:
Leviticus 19:18
"Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against one of your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD.
Matthew 19:19
Jesus replied, " 'Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not give false testimony, honor your father and mother,' and 'love your neighbor as yourself.' "
Romans 13:9
The commandments, "Do not commit adultery," "Do not murder," "Do not steal," "Do not covet," and whatever other commandment there may be, are summed up in this one rule: "Love your neighbor as yourself."
Galatians 5:14
The entire law is summed up in a single command: "Love your neighbor as yourself."
James 2:8
If you really keep the royal law found in Scripture, "Love your neighbor as yourself," you are doing right.
