contact the American Cancer Society and explain what is going on. If she was a church member contact the local church of her denomination and ask for assistance. There are several other cancer groups that will pay stipends to people in your mom's situation but I can't think of the names of any of the others at the moment. Ask whomever is providing her wheel chair for leads on getting assistance. Do a Google search for groups that will help with her drug costs or contact the individual drug companies and ask about their patient assistance programs. Also ask her oncologist for any helpful leads. Treasure the time you have with your mom, because this may be your last opportunity to really spend some time together. Turn her staying with you into a positive and not a negative, despite her illness.

I am in an advanced cancer support group and although I am not in need yet, others there have told me that hospice is very helpful and there is not a cost involved. I believe your mom's doctor needs to write a letter indicating her illness and they will then assist you. One of the ladies I know has someone come in to help with the cleaning and another just gives her rides to doctor appointments. Hope this helps! Thinking of you and your Mom.

I sympathize with you, as I cared for my father who had terminal cancer. I was fortunate that he had wonderful medical and retirement benefits. You may want to check with your local county government agency to see if you qualify for any programs. Also, I found this site that you may find helpful as well. I hope that you are able to find the assistance you need.

My first resource would be the contact your county's council on aging. They are great resources. Many of these agencies have social workers on staff to answer your debts for medical care.

I know this is a short answer, but she should apply for disability. I know it takes a long time to get approved, but the money will be worth it. It will definately help you out.
