I have a gray tiger tabby cat and she is about 8 or 9 years old. We put her on a diet food because she was very very fat. It seems to have worked now, and she looks like she is back to normal size. But now it seems like she never touches her food, and now she throws up all the time all over the house. Even when she is relaxing on out black velvet chair, she threw up. We dont know what is going on. She has been eating things off the floor and things left on the table. She acts pretty much the same as she always has, but she just keeps throwing up. Whats the problem?

Whenever you have a kitty throwing up a lot, and it's not hairballs, you need to have her checked out by a vet. There are a number of things it could be, ranging from eating something she shouldn't have, to just having an icky stomack, to kidney and liver issues, all the way up to cancer. Since your kitty isn't exactly old, but not exactly young either, you should definitely have a vet check her out and run some tests. You should also keep a running list of symptoms before you go. You could also try changing food again to see if that helps. Some cats do have "icky stomachs" for no real reason, and sometimes it's a sign of something brewing that needs medical attention. Since they can't tell us, you have to use your best judgement and that of your vets. Good luck!

Like everyone else is saying, the vet is your best bet. Is it digested food she is throwing up? If it's not, it kinda just sounds like hairballs, but definitely check with the vet. At around that age, cats are usually due for a teeth cleaning anyways, she could have sore teeth!
Good luck and congrats on the weight loss, my cats are on a diet now, it's not easy!

Instead of giving her regular food, try giving her the food she ate when she was on a diet. Maybe it will do the trick. If she still throws up, maybe shes sick. Try getting her to the vet as soon as possible. Hope I could help! ~Miss Shawy

Vet. I will say it again, vet! Throwing up and diareah is not something to take likely, ESPECIALLY with older or young cats. Get off the computer, pick up the phone and call your vet right now.

That sounds like it could be a food allergy. Is she vomiting food or hair? If it is hair, she might have a hairball problem. I would take her to your vet either way just to be on the safe side. Good luck!

Take her to the vet immediately! Sounds like she has a blockage and she could die...I'm totally serious and not playing around.
