Personally, I think its tough to win an arguement with only faith on your side...you have little to back it up with.

Still, I've heard some concepts that I can wrap my mind around. How about everybody else?

I welcome questions. They make me think. Thinking helps me to grow. Sometimes I have even discovered that I could be *gulp* wrong...fortunately, not often *whew*.

I love a challenge. So far, no question or challenge has weakened my faith in God. If anything, it has grown stronger. And that can only be a good thing.

Never underestimate the power of faith, my dear. Faith in the hands of a good person is awesome.

In the hands of an evil person it is downright frightening!!

:)

Personally, i just stop the argument and start a new conversation about something else, because arguing over religion and whos right and whos wrong is not going to change the faith that the people have. I think religion arguments go on and on. Discussing them is a different thing, its a good thing to listen to the the points of view about other peoples religion, however arguing about whos religion is right or wrong doesnt lead anyone anywhere.

I had to seem you as a lot as make effective this wasn't a snare. I study that you've replaced religions a lot and positioned right here statement made by ability of you to be of certain interest. "i'm no longer an Orthodox Mormon. i hit upon attractiveness in all faiths and that i wager you ought to say i'm a versatile Mormon, I attend diverse church homes each 4th sunday, and do the signal of the bypass in the previous and after prayers, study Catholic devotionals and prayer books, attend Unificationist conferences, yet at the same time as it receives right down to it i think in Jesus Christ and His restored complete Gospel :]" I hate to say this, yet versatile to me appears like the "luke warmth" description in Rev. 3. One foot in and one foot out. I comprehend that you've in reality been a member of the church for a little while. How did you study each thing in the form of quick time? i have been in the church all my existence and that i'm nevertheless studying commonly used. would I ask, what were you doing on your weeks of prayer? Did you study the scriptures, communicate with the Elders, or different individuals at the same time as you hunted for solutions? replaced into the personal revelation in accordance to what you've realized or did it stand in stark assessment? i desire i have not pried too a lot. you've presented a severe question to the table, and it advantages a severe answer. i'd recommend you in reality communicate with your bishop. he will understand better than you'll anticipate. I recommend inquiring for a blessing. have you ever had a blessing previous once you've been shown?

It depends on what kind of point a person is attempting to prove about their religion. If they are saying that we must all convert, or die... then I think they have a major problem. Personally, I am a Christian. I am so out of my own choice. I have "studied" all of the other major religions, and a great many of the lesser ones, and find that Christianity has the answers to what I need in MY life. What works for you... As long as you don't tell me I have to convert to your religion, or you'll kill me. Be Happy.

I have no problem with the concept of God or the idea of religion, but I feel it's a personal choice that every person should make on their own after careful consideration, not just because someone tells them what to believe.

I do have a problem with the Christian Militia who take it upon themselves to convert all non-believers. I've "lost" friends to religion. They found God and tried to "save" me even after I repeatedly told them I didn't want to be saved. It got to the point that every conversation with them ended up as a theological "debate" where all they did was regurgitate bible verses to convince me to join them on the path toward salvation.

I'm not anti-religion, I'm just in favor of allowing people to make their own decisions.

Well the majority win that argument (or think they do) every day about evolution. They believe in it with no science to back it up-and people just figure that they will not listen so they let them win. Faith is a powerful motivator-it empowers Christians (like me ) to tell my side, and argue the points. It also empowers atheist to "believe" there is no God. Is that a contradiction? Evolutionist have faith to believe in it, faith is powerful like I said.

It is tough for religion to really stand up against science, but it's quite possible, because the thing is that all religions are technically impossible to prove or disprove. I personally like engaging in debate with others, but I can't stand anybody preaching, and by preaching I don't just refer to Christians or Muslims or people like that, I mean somebody who just says what they have to say and then doesn't listen to others at all (so yes, to me, even some atheists preach)

Diversity is a wonderful thing, and a little bantering back and forth may seem a little mean spirited, but if you look at the big picture, the arguing will only deepen ones beliefs in their religion. Have fun with it and enjoy. I do.

we are all right, yet none of us agree! there are no open minds here. very few even research their questions, answers, or opinions. They rush to be the first to answer before they even read the questions. This could be a message board that makes a difference if we would only take the time to think about the question rather than rush to be first to answer.

Well, good question.

I have been in alot of debates and it is hopeless. It is a waste of time. Everyone I spoke to says their religion is the best and I get so angry when it gets into a big boil of words with the bible and koran and with other books.

What I say know is: God is love and love is all we need and walk away.
