It would have either been the New Haven Railroad or the Boston & Maine...looking at a map...

Each has a historical association...

I live in Bolton and have spent a number of years researching this subject, and I am pretty well informed at this point. Do you have some specific questions. There don't seem to be any photos on the web. The classic book documenting this railroad was published by the Boston and Maine RR Historical Society in 1975, now out of print, and rare copies sell for over $100. It contains a photo of the Berlin train station, and one wonderful photo of a self propelled car going over the 5 Corners intersection on the west end of Berlin where Route 62, the road to Clinton, Barnes Road all intersect. The Train Stop restaurant is just north of it. The train in the picture is a self propelled car that is heading to Boston from Clinton, taken 1948.

This would be the late Boston & Maine Railroad. I am not sure how old of photos you are looking for but try out the link below. And, if you are looking for photos specific to Berlin I would suggest contacting the Berlin Art & Historical Society. Also, if you would like to view some old topo maps of Berlin (which include the rail lines) take a look at the link below. The best of luck on your search!
