For the past 8 months i have been working out with a personal trainer, and i just can not gain any muscle. Every 6 weeks i get my arms meassured and i have actually been losing arm mass. My personal trainer says im just losing fat... well i dont have much to lose to begin with and my bench is going down, so i know im losing muscle too. Is there anything i can take or do that will help me gain muscle mass? Or should i just go with the steroids? I have been eating right i take vitaman c and drinking a protien drink once a day five days a week. Is there anything maybe i can get at my local gnc that really works?

I never forget, my friend long ago, as he trained in the gym to get bigger.. he cooked and eat a whole chicken EVERY NIGHT. It worked for him!!

ps if you want to pick up on weight you must eat normal meals and then on top of that have a protein drink (change the brand you having, some work on hormones to loose weight!). Or even two. If I were you I would leave the drink and go for meat instead, is healthier. And don't be tempted by steroid, another friend used it and got his brain mixed up: he then committed suicide. Very bad. It messes not only with you heart but with you head too, after all it is for horses not human

Everyone's body is different. If you look back on the old timey body builders, before steriods n such. They were strong and they were built up for what natured allowed them to be. If you want to build mass, you need very high protiens, before and after a work out. There are supliments that do hel pwith "quick recovery" during workouts. Also, it depends on your genetics. Bruce Lee by no means was a huge man, but he was built solid. Last, if you want mass, you need to workout for gaining mass. More weight / fewer reps. But the same amount of sets. For instance. If you work out benching 135/10 185/8 205/6 and 225/4. Then try this. 135/10. 205/6 225/6 then go to 250 and do what you can. Make sure you get four sets, even if all of them have to be "negatives".....you control the wieght downwardly.....someone else picks it back up for you.....then slow on the down side again. Eveyones body is different and will react different. Find a program that works best for you and stick with that. Personally I'd prefer to be a good solid medium build and know I'm stronget than people think I am, instead of someone that looks "inflated". Look back on the "oldtimers"......they weren't inflated.....but they were built and strong! Oh.....also, it does a body good to take a week off from it every now and then......to give your muscles a rest.....and sleep is needed as well. Muscles recover during sleep.

Do not use steroids! You'll be sorry, for sure!

There are two different muscle types, bulky muscle and lean muscle. I've seen guys with lean muscle who are just as strong as guys with bulky muscle.

As far as your benchpress going down........are you giving your muscles ample time to recover after a workout? Switch between upper and lower body workouts on alternating days. Work your abdomen everyday. Don't forget to run or walk. But take a day or two off during the week so you don't begin to break down muscle tissue. Hopefully this will help. No steroids! Eat plenty of protien and get atleast 8 hours of sleep everynight.

I think u should change ur personal trainer. u should have gotten atleast little muscle in eight months wiht a help of the trainer..but if u are not.either something is wronge with u or u should look for another trainer. BTW If u want to gain muscles..start eating raisins...thei willl give u quick energie to work out and thei will make u buff out.
good luck.
if u are working out everiedaie then that might be the problem..but I do not think that u would be working out everiedaie for 8 months...change ur trainer.!

Don’t cycle… It’s not worth it. Ya’ don’t want yer nutz to shrink do ya’?

I would go back to GNC and talk to them. My guess is that they will gear you towards a whey protein supplement. Not everybody’s body reacts to these supplements and the “bol” is the same way; cycling is too much work, and can be just as harmful as it is helpful if you don’t know what your doing.

I would recommend asking your P.T. as well as the people at GNC. If they recommend any sort of creatine and you’re accepting the challenge, lots of water and no caffeine, I mean NONE. This will make your loading stages pointless!

And don’t let up on the protein shakes if anything increases your intake of them before you sleep. This will store proteins better then working them off right away.

Good luck man!

Just don't do it, is your health worth it? No, it is not!
From KidsHealth.org:

"A kid or teen who takes steroids might not grow as tall as he or she was supposed to grow. Some other serious and long-lasting side effects are:
premature balding
dizziness
mood swings, including anger and sadness
seeing or hearing things that aren't there (hallucinations)
extreme feelings of mistrust or fear (paranoia)
problems sleeping
nausea
vomiting
trembling
high blood pressure that can damage the heart or blood vessels over time
aching joints
greater chance of injuring muscles and tendons
jaundice or yellowing of the skin; liver damage
trouble peeing
increased risk of developing heart disease, stroke, and some types of cancer

These risks affect girls:
increased facial hair growth
deeper voice, like a man's
shrinking of the breasts
period changes

Specific risks for boys include:
shrinkage of the testicles and penis problems
pain when urinating (peeing)
breast development

Because steroids can be injected (given in a shot), users run the risk of getting illnesses that can be passed through needles that are dirty, or shared. These include HIV/AIDS and hepatitis, a serious liver disease. Though some problems may show up right away, others may not appear for years. One former Oakland Raiders lineman who died of brain cancer believed that steroid use during his football career was one reason he got the disease."

You see? DO NOT DO IT!!!

use this stuff, i have gained 15 lbs of mass in 2 weeks...it is very important not to overtrain...i lift 3 days a week...45 minutes a work out...and eat 6 times a day...you must consume at least 2 protein shakes or meal replacement shakes a day (minimum), eat good protein and carb meals...not to much, like a chicken breast and a baked potatoe that is it eat little meals like that 4 times a day with, protein shakes and you will be good to go...and another thing make sure, that immediatly after you are done lifting drink your creatine, that i attached the link to, and within 30 minutes after that consume a protein and carbohydrate enriched meal, with a fast bruning carb like a apple, and you will be sure to get big, i gained almost an inch on my arms in under 2 weeks

find a new personal trainer...he should have you doing heavy compound movements focusing on your large muscles till you get a solid lifting base..

the essential exercises for mass...
bench presses
squats
dead lifts
pull-ups
bent over rows
standing military presses
cheat curls
close grip bench presses
there are more but those are the essentials

you should eat 6 meals a day and protein at every meal. drink a protein shake 45 minutes before the work out, immediatley after your work out drink a high carb drink (ultra fuel) this will have your pancrease release insulin and start protein synthesis. 45 minute after that eat your highest protein and carb meal. you should make sure that with your six meals you get AT LEAST a gram of protein per body pound and a high amount of calories. your loss of muscle is from lack of protein.
