Well, if you accept that god created everything and thought that everything was "good", and that god is the source of the one absolute and infallible morality, there is no possible way for anything he sees as "good" to be bad.
But, there are many aspects of the world that we see as unfair or cruel, and if god created pain-feeling animals specifically for the purpose of being killed by humans, the way I see it, that makes him immoral, or at least inhumane and unresonable. Some might say that this is only my opinion, but it is not. Pain is obviously not pleasant for most organisms that can feel it.
I am an atheist, and as another example, why would god create me at all? The christian bible says that the one unforgivable sin is blasphemy against the holy spirit, which I am doing everyday by being an atheist. If god knew that I was going to perform this unforgivable sin, then he created me knowing the only thing it would lead to is eternal suffering in hell. Some people that i have talked to would try to justify this by saying that god wants to give everyone an equal chance in life, but why would he feel the need to create me at all? It's not like he has some kind of super-god boss telling him to create every type of person he can think of. He could just not make me, and create someone who will choose in their lifetime to become a christian. Under those circumstances, there would be no need for a hell and everything would be perfect in the supposed afterlife.
And by the way, saying things like "how do you know that plants don't feel pain?" and "have you ever asked a plant if it doesnt feel pain?" are not valid arguments. No one can really KNOW anything, because there is always the possibility that what they "know" could be false, unless they knew everything in the world, and could somehow infallibly verify that they know everything. So, by the logic of the comments above, we can't absolutely know whether there is a pink lawn gnome on top of my head right now (maybe I just cant see it!), but all of our evidence and common experience tells us that there is not. The same applies to whether plants feel pain or not.

No. What purpose does a sheep or a cow carry? What responsibilities and duties do they have? It seems as if their creation has been solely for mankind as the rest of creation has. Being kind to animals is required b/c God was kind enough to create them and that is why when an animal is killed, it is slaughtered in an Islamic fashion (Halal) by cutting the jugular veins so the animal does not feel pain, to give it water just before and not to do it in front of other animals. These are all signs from God.

The suffering came from Adam and his curse on the land. God put him over all the traditoin of suffering in the temple was pointing out that God's son would suffer more then any creator on this planet. The question over morality is based on you understanding and not God's cause his plain was for no pain.
Also with out pain now if you got hurt you wouldn't know it and you could damage you body worst. Pain servers to tell us when something is out of wack.
Animals need pain for the same reason but in heaven no animal will eat another nor will men eat any beast.

We weren't supposed to eat animals originally. Before the flood, everyone by command of God was vegetarian. It was only after the flood that Noah got the command to eat animals as meat.
I see it as a continual symbol and reminder: the pain that animals have so that we can live is a reminder of the pain that Christ endured so that we can live.
Is that immoral? I don't think so, because God made the animals so that man can be master over the animals. And in so doing we are learning from them. This doesn't mean to me that you can go cause pain to animals for no reason--but I'm really not all that concerned about it.

Who's to say plants don't feel pain? And I would think animals would have use for pain in the normal events in thier lives. To trigger fight or flight responses. Keep them out of dangerous situations that can only be learned through a little pain. Pain seems like a bad thing on the surface. But many things you have learned about come from pain. Think about it.

I believe that animals DO have souls. I believe that plantlife also has souls. I'm pretty plant souls are very different than human souls, but some trees especially, have some sort of soul. I think plants have feelings, too.
What humans do for food or otherwise has almost nothing to do with the morality of God.

Well, you might also ask, and quite reasonably, why a god would create people so fatally flawed that they develop Parkinson's, or Addison's Disease, or why are some babies born with phenylketonuria, or born without a brain, or why do some of us develop cancer and others not? You might ask why a god would allow such things as the Holocaust, lynching of a man because of his color, or a man who pretends to be Christian sending people he dosen't approve off to be tortured and murdered in a fashion called "extraordinary rendition", as does George Bush? Well, the answer is this: any god that would behave that way, and also allow animals to suffer when we kill 'em to eat 'em is a monster unworthy of worship.

First, I don't believe that plants are "pain free". I believe that all living things, including vegetation and the inanimate, have souls, just at different levels of consciousness.
But, to address your actual question, each soul chooses the life it will lead, while still in the spiritual world, prior to taking this physical form and each soul knows and chooses its purpose for living.
Animals have their unique purposes as well. For some it is to live in the wild, for others it is to be human companions, for others it is to nourish other beings, animal or human.
This choice that we have at the soul level is all a part of God's gift of free will to us. It's not all about choice in this temporal physical life, but in our true, eternal spiritual lives.

God create thier system same as ours for single purpose. So we can do all expirements on animals and find better drgus for us. This way we can use medecine and live longer. So we can worship god Longer and he will pleased longer.
And of cause we will get better place in heaven since we worship longer. Therefore GOD exists.
GOD was smart to give us chance to torture animals but not torturing souls.
He is so just and mercyfull it only blind person can't notice how intelegent and creative he was. Imagine that there are no animals or plants in heaven.
And when we ran out of animals GOD will send us angels. He creativly introduce Slavery to us by Forcing Angels to serve us and bow before us.
I can't wait till i get to heaven so i can get few angels to serve me.
Therefore GOD exists.
Peace.

Let me tell you something about Artificial Intelligence: You take a thirst for these 3 concepts::::
Truth, God, Love
write them as circuit dynamics, yes this is very doable and i have the equations to bore you with if need be...
There's no answer to this question: You are using this device you call the human mind. I call it a device because it must be used to evolve. YES EVOLVE. it will find out who you really are using your soul and your body and itself. Using your bible it will come up with a whole system with which to live, a whole Shakespeare scenario to rehearse over and over....
This will leave you to ONE SOLUTION:
Asceticism is seen at the atomic, conscious, and spiritual levels in the following dynamic: all naturally occuring organisms have a soul and that there are levels of consciousness that we humans cycle in reaching God only as an idea.
Here is my answer to immoral God:
THERE IS PERFECTION IN THE SYMMETRY. you really think this is the only planet with life??? you really think this little stint here is really it??? you really think you'll just put your little finger on this morality button and go flying around???
Now as for plants, I respect them because they know me for who I am as an intention to their way of life. As for animale-eys, they can be used to show you how human personality has to be stretched. Now as for eating them, they are able to live reasonably decent lives w/o having to burden the over-demand of human nature. your church deserves credit for illustrating what human nature can become, so i accept that you may disregard much if not all i have to say. I know you are just a responsible, honest, and aware soul that is muchly the other version of myself. so shall it be done. the cosmic wheel shall turn unto the end of time, which does not exist, -- amen ;)
