Did you specify how you wanted it spent? Was spent to do His service? I wouldn't ask for it back, But next time I would be very specific or give the money directly to the place you want it to go

That all depends on your view of tithing.

Do you give so you can pay for what you want? If so, then you should get a refund. This doesn't sound much like tithing, but more like a purchase order.

Do you because you have to according to scripture? Then if so, you don't really care where the money goes , so long as you are "obediant" , right?

Do you give to from a cheerful heart to your Lord as a sacrifice? If so, then it doesn't really matter what God chooses to do with the gift... even if it is used for illicit or illegal means. Your act of giving is separate from the church's act of stewarding. In this event, you shouldn't ask for a refund.

All that being said, MANY churches are offering a "money back guarantee" these days. If the money is the most important thing, then by all means collect it back.

Hope this helps...

any money given to the church should be used for the basics of the church, not specifically what you want. the bible tellls us to bring our tithes and offerings to the store house. the church has the same utilities as we have at home, not to mention help to those in the need. most churches have vehicles, and we all who have a car know that there is always something to be repaired, gas for to pick up those in the church with no transportation. God tells us to give with a cheerful heart. how would you feel if Jesus came to you and requested the amount of blood He shed on calvary back from you? so be obedient and give. don't worry so much about where the money you gave went to, instead be concern about where your soul will be, Jesus said to give grudgingly, one would be better off to not give at all. Glory to God in the Highest!

How did you know it was used contrary to how you wanted it to be spent? They don't tell you what the money is going towards before you give? Is it towards lighting, bills, overhead and products for the congregation or is it used for vacations, shopping sprees, gambling, movies, entertainment?

It would be bad, it's not like you specified what you thought the church should use it's money for when you gave it to the church.

Don`t worry whether it`s spent on what it`s supposed to be doesn`t matter. What counts is the Lord knows what your intentions are. To God be the Glory!

Your not really giving the church you are giving to God. If they choose to use it for anything other than furthering the kingdom of God then they have to answer to God.
