There's a real answer to this question (I'm sure you'll get plenty of sexist ones).
For most of man's existence, men hunted and women gathered. It will take a few hundred years before our instincts change.
It's useful for hunters to know what's going on behind them, and to be able to imagine the view on the ground from up above. These skills are completely useless to gatherers who developed different skills. Many of the skills needed for reversing and parking need a good idea of what goes on behind you.
Cars were originally designed and driven by men. By the time women started driving, car design was fairly standard. If women had invented cars, they'd have been designed to match their skills.

Being a trainee using instructor and having to do the stepped forward concept attempt i understand what you're dealing with. although, any difficulty which you spot which will reason you to the two brake, or take warding off action warrants a press on the button. because of the fact the region develops then press back. are not getting into the region of shop pressing the button because of the fact the pc will evaluate that cheating. purely press once you spot a skill probability, a number of the clips have purely one probability in them and each so often 2 or 3. so some distance as opposite parking is worried, education particularly is the considerable. purely one extra element, the familiar of the prepare video clips are no longer as stable because of the fact the real ones, they are those that have been rejected by potential of the DSA. stable success wish this enables a sprint.

Well if you hadnt have added details, I would have thought you were being rude. I was quite surprised with a friend of mine. She has only just passed her test but she parked better than most of the people round here who have been driving for 20+ years! I still pointed and laughed at her because it was the first time I had seen her drive(she was perfectly good though, well she might become less careful as the years go by)

I know some blokes who can't parallel park, but apparently there is a biological reason why women are "as good". Goes back to our Hunter/gathering age when the male developed a strong sense of visual depth perception as they were the hunter's and had to judge greater distances, while the females were primarily concerned with raising off-spring to further the species, so developed a greater sense of detail (that's why they "pick" holes in everything else us blokes do!). Both senses were essential to the survival of the species so genetic adaptions were in-bred into future generations - the ones that were essential to survival of a species are harder to shift when redundant (not much hunting required to push a trolley down Tesco's frozen food aisle), but males still hang on to skills developed millions of years ago, and the women keep the same sense of detail to tell you that you bought the wrong type of potatoes, she wanted lamb mince, not beef, and since when have we been drinking semi-skimmed milk!

because they don't care as much. or at least, some of them don't.

to be fair i think poor driving skills are about 50-50, but guys will let each other off most the time, and when women chew them out about it, blank it out as nagging and forget it (sure as hell what I do); the women themselves simply don't care, it seems :)

e.g. my dad, my nearly-stepmother, and my supervisor at work (female) are all perfectly good drivers and i'm happy to ride with them any time and seem to be able to make gaps expand..... whereas it takes a special reason for me to step into my mother's, brother's or a certain uncle's car, as i have to take a walkman, a blindfold and a very big cigar (and i don't even smoke!)... and that's before you get onto the near-carnage that is them trying to fit a 6-by-18-foot peg into a 10-by-25-foot hole.

i do find your attitude very amusing though :-D

why are guys sexist pigs?

I can reverse, park, anything. Try parallel parking on a 30 degree slope, on the left side of the street, no power steering, manual tranny, and making it on the first try with 6 inches in front and 6 inches in back. Tra la!

Yeah...we've heard this before...
I can reverse park straight into a small spaced, cramped multi-storey car parking space - with a thick pillar on one side and a wall on the other - all without the need of power steering.
Can you?

I'm pretty hot stuff at reversing and parking, my mum is too.. People have commented about both of our skills in that department lol.

Apparantly though, men have better spacial awareness than us gals (or at least think they do, teehee!).. Maybe something to do with that..

because it doesn't really matter thats why...we have more important things to do that reverse park. we use our brains and rather than struggle to reverse we drive round the block and find another suitable parking place. it is one of the only things that men are good at...ha ha ha.
