Dear CaRol,

The Seventh Day Adventist church will tell you that they are a Christian church, but in reality, they are not. They will tell you that they follow the Bible but in reality, they do not. Their main focus in on the seventh day sabbath (which is Saturday in our calendar). They hold their main worship service on that day (Saturday) and say that if you do not hold this day as the Sabbath, you cannot possibly be saved. They fail to realize the fact that man can do nothing to merit salvation ie. you cannot do any work to earn heaven. This is why the Lord said they were not to do any work on that day--because Christ is the only One who can keep the law perfectly and the only One that could pay the penalty that breaking God's law demands, that is eternity in hell. That is what Christ endured for those He came to save (His elect). The Seventh day adventists are trying to do what the majority of Old Testament Israel attemped--keep the law to establish their righteousness. Our righteousness is as filthy rags--one needs Christ's righteousness in order to enter heaven. There is much more than what I have described here and if you want further info see: www.familyradio.com. I hope this will help you.

Do you mean Seventh-day Adventist?

I know about it.
They think that God used our calendar when he created the universe and on the seventh day he rested. To them it means Saturday is the Lords day.
I put forth the argument that god started work on a monday just like everybody else and he worked overtime on Saturday to get Sunday off for rest.
Modern man put Sunday first when they designed the calendar out of respect for god.
They should have put Monday first and there would be no seventh day adventists.
There were a few other fringe beliefs they had that I felt compelled to argue with the preacher about but I can't remember them right now.
I think I shook up his faith some.

My father is a Seventh-Day Adventist, and I was raised in the SDA church, so I know quite a bit I suppose. :) They don't eat meats like pork or shellfish, etc., and many of them are vegetarian. They celebrate the Sabbath on Saturday. They don't believe in jewelery (traditionally).
