I don't JUST mean Christianity; and I don't necessarily mean specific religions; I mean putting others down for anything they believe, trying to change them as people, as if to say, "God? That's stupid!" that you've accomplished something; or if to say, "REPENT!!! Accept Jesus!!!" or "Peace be to God, Allah, the Almighty, the most Benevolent" you're going to change someone to follow what you believe. I just want to know what the purpose is of doing that; it really bothers me, and it shows me how many idiots there are in the world--A question I can answer myself.
As many stars as there are in the sky.
And I understand the irony of me asking this, but I'm not trying to change people's beliefs; I just want to know why push anything? What's the point? Some empty words aren't going to change someone.

Julia, you're right; I'm referring to EVERYONE. Atheists, Christians, Muslims, everyone (those seem to be the top three, in that order).

Frustrating isn't it?
Suppose you saw a child about to fall out of a seventh story window. Wouldn't you run to save the child? Would you shove people out of the way, if necessary? Would you grab the kid, even if he resisted, or would you simply let him fall?
As a Christian, I believe it is my responsibility to tell other people what I know about Jesus, and to be ready to answer questions and give what help I can. Once the other person has made it quite clear he/she isn't interested, there is no point in arguing with them, is there?
Of course, I can always pray for them...
:)

Speaking from a Christian Faith POV I do not think it happens as much as many seem to believe. From the teaching of Christ it would be wrong to do so. Unfortunatly many do get carried away and come on too strong. But then too many also have such thin skins that any mention of a way that is different than they are comfortable with seems come accross as being shoved at them.
I know for myself that for 40 of 53 yrs I was anti Christian. And I felt they were a "pushy bunch" I try now, as a Christian, not to be that way. Yet I still get accused of being. Kaint plz em all I guess.
I do know the Truth of what My Faith is. And I do want to share with those willing to hear. If you or anyone else is interested I dont push... just share. I accept email questions from honest seekers who come in peace.

they just think that they are right, just like you think you are right to question them. we live in a world of inflated egos and it seems that the most hate filled people are also the ones with the biggest mouths, and no one will ever know who was right until we die. they believe that because they were born in a religion, that must be the correct one because they are not familiar with the others and it just does not work that way.
sorry if this was not the answer you were seeking.
if it makes you feel any better i would never dare to think of changing you, i say if you were smart enough to write this question, then you are smart enough to figure out what you want out of life, because the fact of the matter is we all want different things:)
oh, and i am with Julia on this one.

In Islam, we believe that Allah is the most Merciful, but also the most severe in punishment.
Those who do not believe that There is no object worthy of being worshiped but Allah (God), will indeed gain the anger of God, and will be subjected to an eternal life in hellfire.
why? because how ungrateful is man, that he worships other than the One and only who created him?
If you believe
1. that there is no object worthy of worship but Allah (God)
2. you believe in the angles
3. Heaven and hell
4. The Books that came before (the Old testament, Gospels, Quran)
5. you believe in the all the Prophets of God starting from Adam, including Moses, Jesus, Abraham, Noah, and Muhammad peace be upon all of them)
and finally
6. Divine decree.
than welcome to Islam.
Finally, if you do not wish to listen to anything i've said, at least do one thing which you have nothing to lose.
Seek guidance from God himself to guide you on the strait path, and see where it leads you.
I Swear by Allah, that if you Sincerely and whole-heartedly ask Him for Guidance to the truth. He will lead you to it.
you have nothing you lose.
I ask God to guide you all to the truth. ameen.

If you had the cure for cancer, wouldn't you tell people about it?
People everyday are dying and going to hell, a place of fire, seperation from God, darkness, and everlasting torment, (by the way do you know where you're going when you die?) The Bible tells us that we don't have to go there if we simply believe in the power of Christ's blood to cover our sins. I don't push that belief on people, I just know the truth and belive that all should at least know the truth so that they can make a choice for themselves. Are you on your way to Heaven or Hell? I pray you know that you're going to heaven.

This all depends on everyone point of view. In your point of view, you may not agree with me and see it as a possible truth. In my point of view, my faith is truth. In my point of view I know there is a God. To me my knowledge is a gift, and all great gifts are meant to be shared. I do not "push" my beliefs on others. I give them the offer to here what I believe is truth necessary for eternal happiness. But we are all agents unto ourselves, and we all must decide for ourselves whether to accept God or deny Him.

when people try to change u they want to save u from hell. its ur loss if u don listen . but on the other hand u are right. in islam their is something about that , that ur not suppose to try to convert people if they don want to know anything about ur religon. the sheiks alway tell us only teach the people who want to know about islam, or ask u a question about it. they also say islam is not a force ... the people probably dont even notice they are doing that . and people need to remember islam is not a force.

Look at the parents and childrens.
WE all want to have common base so we can communicate better and rpecise.
I want every one to be Cristian since it's always easier to control belivers than ppl who can think. My goal to make all under one GOD and then buy the position of POPE.
Therefore GOD exists.

I hate it when people want to push their beliefs on others. And to say that someone is stupid just because they believe differently than you is ridiculous.

My words may not change anyone, but my ideas my get some of you to think, and study, and by that way some may come to see, and believe the truth, and thereby be saved.
