1. If you confess your sin and ask for salvation on the stairway to heaven - will Peter "let you through"?

2. Are there sins that are too large to be forgiven?

3. If no, will this go for anyone, or do you think there will be any discrimination?

Well. ok I was too easy on my wording the question; the question is: if you accept salvation and Jesus before you die, will you be accepted in to heaven do you think?

- no matter what sin you bring with you in your life-bag.

Its kind of a retorical question because, I really do wonder: do believers of God believe thatGod are able to forgive? and are we, ourself, so great as to forgive the greatest sins comitted on earth - like for instance the Holocaust, the killings in Rwanda

That really makes one question the nature of god.

Let's look at two scenarios for this answer

1. A political leader commits genocide against millions of christians. He authorizes and joins in during crimes such as murder and rape etc... On his deathbed he begs god for forgivness and all that good stuff and according to the bible is accepted into heaven.

2. A man lives a completely pure life devoid of sin except for when he was 15 years old he stole a pair of shoes from a store. He spends his life working for charity and devoting his life to helping his fellow man. Yet he dies without asking god into his heart etc... This man is sent to hell.

Now if god is all loving of all of his children why would he condemn a man who lived such a wonderful life while rewarding such an evil man?

The only criteria to get into heaven is basically to believe that god exists (accept him as lord and savior etc...) so basically god is saying that as long as you are on my team I absolve you of all your wrongdoing, but if you are not on my team no matter how good you are I'll cast you into hell for eternity, however I still love you.

This is the biggest reason why Christianity (and most religion in general) just doesn't make sense to me. On one hand god is portrayed as an all loving wonderful being. But on the other hand he seems jealous and spiteful like a bully with a big ego that rewards those who grovel at his feet and punishes others who don't.

I think the best answer to all of those questions is to rely on yourself and believe in yourself. You should live your life to a high standard because it is the right thing to do, not because you fear some magical man in the clouds might punish you otherwise.

Peter is in the grave, not at the Pearly Gates. We go the the grave at death, not to heaven or hell. The word hell in both the Hebrew and Greek is the word for the grave. And, yes it is possible to get forgiveness just before death, but if I were you I would not wait that long, because we do not have any guarantee that we will have time to ask for forgiveness. The only sin that is to big to be forgiven is the unpardonable sin, that is, when you keep putting off conversion until you can no longer hear the voice of the Holy Spirit, then you will no longer feel the need to be forgiven, nor will you see any reason to ask for it. This is the unforgivable sin. All unforgiven sinners will burn until there is nothing left, not body, breath, nor even the memory of you. Sorry, I got sidetracked by the rest of your question. Salvation is, when you give your WILL to Jesus, so that everything that you are is His. His will becomes your will, His words, become your words, His thoughts, become your thoughts.

You have to confess your sins in life and take Jesus as your Lord and personal Savior before you die. You can't get on the other side, see the truth and then change your mind. No sin is too large that the ultimate price hasn't covered. Salvation in general is a good thing that must be given on this side of life.

1. Peter is not at the gates of heaven. Jesus is the judge of humanity. Also, grace through Jesus does not limit itself to the timing of salvation of an individual. Jesus taught this in his parable of the workers in the vineyard.
2. People judge sins to be large and small. God views all sin as reprehensible and rebellion. All is forgiven in the sacrifice of Jesus on Calvary
3. God is not a respector of persons. All are his creation and all are judged based on their relationship with Jesus Christ.

Salvation is for anyone and everyone. If you truly repent and accept Jesus in your heart, (the time it happens does not matter) you will receive salvation. I think that the sad thing is that if you wait till the last minute, you sure will miss out on some really great things.

God bless you

The only sin unforgiven is blashemy of the Holy Spirit. Salvation is more than asking God to come into your life. It is an every day thing. Praying and reading your bible. to be saved you must obey acts 2:38 and that says to repent---turn from your ways-
be baptized- to be buried in the name of Jesus. that is the only name whereby we must be saved.- and then recieve the holy ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues..that is a personal language that God gives you...The way he talks thru you. People often get scared when they speak in tongues, but dont cause that is the most beautiful thing ever...some people cannot speak in tongues but see they are not yeilding to the spirit of God. Ask God for the holy ghost, he will give it to you if you yeild.

Salvation is a process involving the following:
Election
Calling
Regeneration
Conversion (Repentence and faith)
Justificaiton
Adoption
Sanctification
Union with Christ
Glorification
Most people only think of conversion when they think of salvation, but salvation is the whole process.. See Romans 8 for some of the parts of the process listed above...

Look we as humans, because it is our very nature, want to make all in life very complicated, it was never meant to be that way, cut and dry, very simple, Jesus said," unless you are born agin , of water and the spirit, a man (woman) can not see the kingdom of heaven." It doesn't get any simpler than that, don't try to make thing more than they really are. If Jesus said it, take it for just as he said it.

Jesus said, "Drink of this cup (fruit of the vine) for this is my blood that is shed for many for the remission of sins.".

Jesus said that confessing Him the Christ, Son of the living God, is key to the Kingdom of Heaven.

I believe the worst sin is sacrificing innocent (yet with sin nature) children through the fire to devils. Jesus was the spotless Lamb of God (no sin nature). He bore our sins on the cross, even the worst sins. One just needs to realize one is a sinner needing a Savior. It is impossible to know all our sins. Confessing one a sinner & confessing Jesus Christ Lord of ones life. Believing in one's heart He died on the Cross for you and raised up for your justification. With the heart one believes unto Salvation. This is the new birth. Jesus said that this is the foundation He builds His church on and the gates of Hell will not prevail.

All have sinned and come short of God's Glory. The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life. We are saved by grace. Not by works or being good enouph. Jesus is our righteousness. His blood washes us white as snow. After one is born again, a new creation in Christ Jesus, one needs to trust and obey Him.

After the new birth we will mess up again. We now have Jesus our high Priest to go to 24/7. If we confess our sins, He is just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. It is impossible for a child of God to abide in sin so we change from glory to glory and mature in Christ. This is abiding in His Word and Love.
