Yes, I looked like a member of the band OMD, as it was very curly on top but straight underneath. I screamed at the mobile hairdresser who did it, (as it was nothing like the picture I got out of Patches or Blue Jeans) and my Mum made me apologise afterwards.
I used to try to pull it straight again.

Yes I did - and yes, I kind of looked like Leo Sayer's sister. Mine was even cut over my ears, so I guess mine was a mullet perm!

Yep, sure did and not just one. My mum was a hairdresser and kept experimenting on me. Not funny when it turned into a brillo pad on my head!! Took me years to get my hair in good condition again and then guess what??? Just got it permed again last year. Don't worry was only done once and not by my mum but a friend.

Yeah, I had a perm in the eighties, but I didn't get another one because it hurt so much the first time......

Omg! No, I didn't have a perm, but I remember my mom perming my dad's hair in the 80s. Weird, huh?

I sure did, I had more than one unfortunately. My sister was a trainee hairdresser at the time so I was dragged to the hairdressers kicking and screaming as her perm guinea pig!!

I did, and then people started saying I looked like David Koresh or Wierd Al. It was time to get a hair cut.
