Why are so many women getting tattoos on their lower backs right above their waistband? I think that is a total turnoff! You girls are aware that many men refer to those tattoos as tramp stamps aren't you? Is that what you are after? Or are you just trying to "fit in" and "be cool"

I had never heard that name before. I do have a tattoo, on my ankle, not lower back. Is there a nickname for those of us with ankle tattoos (lol)?

I knew someone who got a tattoo when he turned 15, and at 24 it looked like crap. I'm sure it was cool when he got it, but it stretched out bad and now it just looks like a mess. I would suggest wait! You have no idea what body parts will grow how much over the next couple of years. I say you have a VERY GOOD chance of it distorting. Don't risk it! A couple of years isn't long to wait for a forever tattoo. Btw, the whole sin thing... If you think it is a sin, then yes it is, same as with anything else you do that you think is wrong. But where the Bible says not to get one is in the OT Law, which we don't have to follow anymore due to Jesus dying for us.

People have different reasons for getting tattoos. I personally have 4, including one in the area that you are referring to. I have 2 tattoos on my back because that's what I wanted, not more or less to fit in with other people. They symbolize my love for music (it's a treble clef with waving staffs on each side) and it is a tattoo that is not meant for everyone to see, it's for my personal enjoyment. Now, honestly, when females wear shirts that are too small, and jeans with their butt almost showing just so you can see the tattoo, then that's a tramp stamp because that's what they are acting like, but you shouldn't place that stereotype on everyone.

I have a tattoo on my lower back...I just got, it is my fifth tattoo it is of a my son's name, feathers for my Native American blood and a flower that means alot to me...I got this a couple of months ago.
Back tatt's have been called "tramp stamp's" in fact I saw someone who said..."hmmmm lower back tatt...huh? you know that is the sign of a super slut right?" I turned and looked at her and curtly replied..."ummm it's called a tramp stamp and we had a good laugh" if you can throw stuff back in the faces of those with humor I find that works the best for me.
Simple fact I love my tattoo, it makes me feel sexier for me, my husband likes it, and when I am 50 years older I am still gonna love it...how many grannies show there butts anyhow at that point.
So do what you want to do with no regrets if you are willing to not care what other's think...I don't and if they have a problem with it...well that is exactly what it is it is there prob...and laugh in the face of criticism..it's kinda like killing someone with kindness that you can't stand.
So I am not trying to "fit in" or be "cool" because I show it off when I want too...just my husband or if I want to show it to someone I have that option.
My body, my choice, life is short and only get to live it once and experience it once so enjoy it even if others have qualms with how you do it.

1st of all they are NOT tramp stamps. women think they are sexy and they make them feel sexy.... u need to stfu and realize ur just a fuking idiot whos mind is still in the 1950's!! And if u ask almost ANY guy, he will say that back tattoos are the most sexiest freaking tattoo there is!!

The lower back is just a cool place to put a tattoo... we're not trying to look slutty, nor are we trying to fit in, we just think that tattoos in that area look neat!

Why do guys wear their pants so their boxers are showing? Isnt that stating that you are gay cause didnt that originated from guys in the prison? Are you guys trying to be cool or fit in, or is that a cover up to say that you are guy?
