I am 5'5" and weigh 143. I drink beer almost everynight. Like 3-6, more on weekends. Other than that I eat pretty good and I am active. I used to weigh about 115-120. How long should it take me to lose the weight? I am willing to walk as exercise. How far should I walk? I am getting chunky!!!

Walk one hour a day as a minimum.
Beer is very fattening and you will loose weight if you stop, all other things being equal.
Forget other drinks or light beer. They will still keep the weight on you...you cannot drink alcohol.

YES - but than you'll die so it's not recommended - just kidding.
Yes you can lose weight as beer is made up of carbs which is converted into sugar. A beer or two a day shouldn't hurt you, in fact it may be a benefit but excersise is certainly recommended.
Maybe you can curb your weight gain by excercising more and switching to a low-carb/low calorie beer, or drinking less of them. Walking only goes so far, about 3 or 4 hours a day is comparable to about 30 minutes of jogging.
-Good Luck.

Lose the beer, and you will lose a little weight that way.

You also need to walk/ jog 2 miles a day minimum, 4 would be great

Work up to jogging by walking 3/4 of a mile and then jog the final 1/4 of a mile

do this once in the morning and once in the evening

work up to doing two miles, two times daily

Yes, you'll lose a lot of weight if you quit the beer. However, do not think you will be okay if you simply REPLACE the beer with liquor. Mixing liquor with coke or sours mix or anything else may contain just as many (sometimes more) calories than beer. Either do shots of vodka, or better yet - stick to water ...

You will loose weight and get a longer life span. Alcohol causes damage to the liver and other body organs. It will not take you long to loose weight if begin cardio however it does depend of the food you eat. I would start off with maybe a mile or two. GOOD LUCK!

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!

Get started today!

beer has a huge amount of calories. so, yes. maybe switch to light beer and cut back.

just cutting back the beer will make you drop the weight. especially if you cut out sodas and replace it with water.
