I will make this comment correct me if I am wrong. When you were born you just accepted your life with no questions asked. That is purity. Now you are adult and jumping to all kinds of conclusions that in all cases you eventually discover were not accurate.

I was not raised in a religious context. I never believed in deities and any form of afterlife. I was taught to think for myself. I still do that.

God you got another person. So it is not just me who has no idea where you are going with your mombo jumbo. Stop trying to push your views on everyone and except that everyone has their own views. That is life. Living with a closed mind is not living at all.
