The bible states that sorcerors don't enter heaven. H.P is all about witchcraft, etc. Is this "kids book" teaching our kids to follow it premises? I see on t.v. kids with wands, even fake scar marks on their foreheads!!! Is this teaching this generation to accept the mark of the Beast???!!!
No other kids book has sold like H.P. Its story makes it so catching to kids, and its supposed to be innocent. Im just saying to be careful in what we read and watch. Its brainwashing.

Yes, it's full of sorcery. Sorcerers go to Hell if they don't repent before they die.

I'm a Christian and I say no. I think we have to look at the context of the Bible and the context of Harry Potter. In Biblical times, people followed and worshipped sorcerors and these guys were looked at as some kind of diety or diety inspired. Likewise, the sorcerors perpetuated this myth or even did their works in the name of some false God.

I don't think Harry Potter is in this same category. You can look at anything and if you over analyze enough you can find something that you can tie in to being satanic or pagan or whatever.

I've seen the movies and it seems to be more about children who are independently capable of being amazing and I think that's all kids really dream to be in the first place. Harry isn't some religious witchcraft zealot, just a gifted kid at a gifted school. I haven't seen anyplace where Harry makes some great play to move our children away from God and I think that children are smart enough to understand it isn't real just like we all know guys like David Blaine and Siegfried and Roy aren't real and don't advertise to be. Harry is like an Xman that is a kid and relates to kids on their level and deals with some of the same social situations that kids do. I think that is also why it is very appealing.

Your statement is brainwashing. Harry Potter is a fictional character from a book. He, his world, his school, and his spells are just fictional details in a great story. Kids dress up as thier faveoritie chacters all the time. Kids walk around pretending to be cowboys, indians, cops, and robbers..It's just what kids do. Why do you have to turn things that are so innocent into something delivish? DO you think God would turn his back on children who wear a fake scar on thier forehead??? Give God more credit than that.

When you see a Harry Potter church around and have people pray to Harry Potter, then you should be worried until then just let kids be kids.

If you really want to thelp the children of today then you should encourge these kids to read rather than watch tv all day or play video games, because our kids are getting dumb and dumber by the day.

Its entertainment, nothing more. It is targeted at kids, but who cares? What little kids don't wish they had magical powers. Movies have been being made for years about magic, but for some reason, Harry Potter is evil. I'm a Christian, and when I have kids, if they want to read a fictional book about witchcraft and wizardry, I'll let them, but when they ask me questions, like all young children do, I'll explain to them the evils of real world witchcraft so that they understand that the book is just a fictional story, nothing more. I wish parent would stop sheltering their children from what they believe to be "evil", when the real evil is over protective parenting.

Harry Potter introduces people to actual occultic practices. It is told in a fictional fantasy story. However, many of the rituals performed are occultic based, and have hidden esoteric meanings to the "Adept" the "Profane" or common man, is not meant to know or understand what these things or symbols mean. They are given false interpretations. To hide their knowledge from the "profane". Like the back of the 1$ bill.
The eye on top of the Pyramid, is commonly called the "eye of God". However, when you do your research, this 'god' is not the God of the Bible, but the pagan god, Horus. The symbols on the back of the 1$ bill have hidden esoteric meaning to the 'adept' while common man is oblivious to what these symbols represent. It's called esoteric wisdom. Novus Ordo Seclorum, New Order of the Ages.

It's a very long study, if you're interested.

I think you are judging what you have not even looked at seriously. The spells and all are completely fake and made up by the author. The books are more about growing up and friendship and choosing to do the right thing even when it's difficult.

I wish you and the idiots that burn Harry Potter books would get over it.

Do you feel the same way about The Wizard of Oz? When it came out, there was the same interest in sorcery and magic and the same fears that it would corrupt children.
Both stories teach important lessons about independence, resourcefulness and the value of friendship. The Wizard of Oz is a children's classic and eventually Harry Potter will be appreciated in that way as well. I doubt that The Wizard of Oz turned any children into demon worshipers and feel that religion has nothing to fear from Harry Potter either.

Is the Wizard of Oz evil? There is a "good witch" in it!

Is Sleeping Beauty evil? There are three "good fairies" in it, and one "evil fairy".

Is Cinderella evil? It teaches our little girls to use magick to get a handsome prince and live happily ever after.

What about Shrek? The ogre gets the girl. I suppose it's OK, cuz the girl is really an ogre too. Of course, maybe we shouldn't teach our kids that ugly should breed.

Is the Cat in the Hat evil? I don't trust him. No telling what he's hiding under that hat.

And the beat goes on.......

What do Christian's have to be afraid of? If you follow Christian doctrine then you as a believer will be fine. Know yourself and your beliefs, teach them to your families and those you love. Fear is the true evil it sets us apart from each other, and creates hate. Do not fear evil in this world with out it to contrast, good can not exist. Maybe you should try reading the books and deciding for yourself, I found them vastly entertaining.

Yes you are correct in what you have stated!
Ga 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
Ga 5:20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
Ga 5:21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

IT'S JUST FICTION! If your brain is so feeble you allow it to be washed, it's your own fault. And if you can't teach your kids the difference between fiction and reality, well, that's your fault too.

If anything, Harry Potter teaches strength of character and fighting what is right and standing up against evil. You'd think Christians would support that... oh well.

Dirty Mudblood.
