An angel is an ethereal being found in many religions, whose duties are to assist and serve God. They typically act as messengers, as believed in the main three monotheistic religions. In the Hebrew Bible, angels often appear to people in the shape of humans of extraordinary beauty, and often are not immediately recognized as angels (Genesis 18:2, Genesis 19:5; Judges 6:17, Judges 8:6; 2 Samuel 29:9); some fly through the air; some become invisible; sacrifices touched by them are consumed by fire; and they may disappear in sacrificial fire, like Elijah, who rode to heaven in a fiery chariot. In the Bible, angels are a medium of God's power; they exist to execute God's will. Some mystics believe, that a soul is growing in steps from minerals, plants and animals to men. When the human body dies, a soul could become an angel. The Persian Sufi mystic poet Jalal al-Din Muhammad Rumi wrote in his poem Masnavi:

I died as inanimate matter and arose a plant,

I died as a plant and rose again an animal.

I died as an animal and arose a man.

Why then should I fear to become less by dying?

I shall die once again as a man

To rise an angel perfect from head to foot!

Again when I suffer dissolution as an angel,

I shall become what passes the conception of man!

Let me then become non-existent, for non-existence

Sings to me in organ tones, 'To him shall we return.'

Yes I do believe in angels.

No. The current boom of esoterica and religion is in my opinion just a counter reaction to our high tech world. People seek for simple non logic rules, and because of philosophers are too "sophisticated" they go back to superstitiousness. I've seen some good people really getting in mental trouble with all that hocus-pocus. All this "angels" stuff is a big fraud of some swindlers too make easy money with people looking for a deeper meaning of life, and this religious trend is abused by some conservative politicians to consolidate their power.

In the end it helps nothing, you have to use your own brain, think rational and will find that you don't need "angels" or the fear of gods rage to be a good human being.

I believe in angels, but I realize they're not the creatures so many of us seem to think they are. Those cute little baby cherubs? Cherubim are not cute, they are amazing, but not cute. Read Ezekiel if you'd like a physical description. I think most people would pass out from fear if they ever actually saw one, I know I would. We've viewed angels from artists perceptions for so long, we don't even realize what they really are. They are messengers, and they carry out God's will, but as you may have noticed, sometimes its not happy, smiley jobs they get to carry out. Would I like to see one? Yeah, I'm a very curious person, but I also have no delusions about them being all warm and cuddly.

heaven angels do have God and his word and are very supernatural, but also remember Lucifer was a angel in heaven hat got cast to the earth, and in the last day before the second coming of Jesus Christ, the devil will take many form and will have supernatural powers, like with witches, ghost, possession, mediums, ect....This is the work of the devil trying to possess your souls and keep you from going to heaven.

Yes I do. I use to say this one scripture every night before I went to sleep. It was in Psalms 34, "....an angel of the Lord encamped those who fear Him....". I said it one night, and then this huge angel walked in front of my bed. My eyes were closed, but I could still see him. I did not see his face, but only parts of his robe. He was very wide and the color of his robes was like a super bright white. On the other hand, I have been attacked by demons. One night while I was sleeping, I woke up and could not breathe. When I open my eyes I saw this tall dark figure with a robe on. I could see his hand over my face, palming it like a baskeball. His skin was like a drab, olive dead color. He had long sharp fingernails. I tried calling on the name of Jesus but I could not get it out. Then I finally did say Jesus Christ and the figure ran into a corner of the room.
