I utterly agree with you.
Any religion I know of has one (or more) creator/god which made the world and humans. This is not something that can be proven but a matter of faith. Faith as such means believing in the unprovable (this, by the way, would include atheists - if it is impossible to prove god's existence, it is also impossible to prove the opposite).
As such anybody's faith is valid.
However, many religions actually state that their God is not only the only one, but that all other faiths are false. And a fair amount of religions do require their believers to proselitize and show all others the errors of their ways.
I believe that a lot of the disagreements between religions stems from that - I am right, you are wrong. Very often people of faith will feel they need to point out the errors of your way in order to save you, firmly believing that their faith is the only true one.
But I still think you are right - it seems to me that showing other people the "rightness" of your faith would be best done by showing them what an exemplary life you live and what a wonderful loving religion you follow. This is unfortunately not likely to happen anytime soon.

I guess the first (Christian?) answer tells you what you're up against with those folks, huh?
I hope you're not judging this from a logical point of view. Two opposing views, unless they are about "tastes" or something equally subjective, cannot be (both) "valid" in any meaningful sense - especially if they are meant as some sort of explanation. So, if after careful consideration you find that two incompatible views are equally valid, you can rest assured they are also equally nonsensical.

I like to think that all religious worship the same God, but think of him/her/it in different faces/aspects.
If everyone felt that way, there would be fewer wars, less discrimination and bigotry, and no one "right" religion for people to judge each other about. [And you're not supposed to do the "judging" part in many religions anyway.]
So that would make everyone's religion "valid," no?

In Islam, we believe that Allah is the most Merciful, but also the most severe in punishment.
Those who do not believe that There is no object worthy of being worshiped but Allah (God), will indeed gain the anger of God, and will be subjected to an eternal life in hellfire.
why? because how ungrateful is man, that he worships other than the One and only who created him?
If you believe
1. that there is no object worthy of worship but Allah (God)
2. you believe in the angles
3. Heaven and hell
4. The Books that came before (the Old testament, Gospels, Quran)
5. you believe in the all the Prophets of God starting from Adam, including Moses, Jesus, Abraham, Noah, and Muhammad peace be upon all of them)
and finally
6. Divine decree.
than welcome to Islam.
Finally, if you do not wish to listen to anything i've said, at least do one thing which you have nothing to lose.
Seek guidance from God himself to guide you on the strait path, and see where it leads you.
I Swear by Allah, that if you Sincerely and whole-heartedly ask Him for Guidance to the truth. He will lead you to it.
you have nothing you lose.
I ask God to guide you all to the truth. ameen.

Thats true... we follow our religion... every religion has its own sets of rules... guidelines one should say... that we follow...
No relegion is better or worse than other.... none of them is path to heaven or to hell....
But the common part of all religions.... or to all humans is Humanity... and that is valid to you as much it is valid to me.
I'll be glad to discuss it with you... or anyone.

"...for if their works be good, then they are good also... Wherefore all things which are good cometh of God; ...For Behold, the Spirit of Chirst is given to every man, that he may know good from evil;"
Moroni 8
I do believe that all faiths that promote morality, charity, self improvement, reverance, virtue, and all things righteous is inspired by God.
"There is one body, and one Spirit... one lord, one faith, one baptism"
Epheisans 4:4-5
God has given his power and authority to men time and time again. First he gave this priesthood to Adam, but men rejected it. He gave it to Noah, then Abraham, then Moses, then Jesus Christ himself. I believe that that same authority that was given to Moses to part the red sea was given to a prophet whose authority has been passed down since.
This modern prophet was Joseph Smith. Now the living prophet who holds direct authority from God to give His word to us now is Gordon B. Hinkley, President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
I believe that all faiths are based on truth. But whether they speak truth or not, only one can have the true priesthood of God to administer the nessasary ordinances to achieve eternal life.

100% Basically the argument boils down to "my god can beat up your god." Look at the arguments and tell me that isn't what they are in essence. I can't wait to see the righteous indignation your stirs up with this question, even though it is worded very respectfully.
