Well here's your chance! Pay them that compliment. Let them know you care.....Tell them that you notice.

I would have to say my daughter.
I seldom get the chance to tell her to her face what a great woman she has turned out to be. A good mother and hopefully wife, married for 19 years (I think her hubby could better clear that up...lol)
I find we never give our children enough credit for who they are and who they have become. We tend to think of them still in terms of teen years, when they were flightly, stupid and just plain annoying.....
My daughter has a 12 year old totally handicapped boy with cerebral palsy. How she has dealt with this issue has simply amazed me. Her 15 year old daughter is turning into a lovely young woman.
This incredible woman is stronger than anyone I know and we need to tell our children more often what they mean to us and how proud we are of them.
And the same can be said for my son. He is an incredible dad and husband.

I would compliment myself I am the biggest person that I neglect, I am always catering to others and never take the time for myself ,I have six children a husband and a huge family who call on me everday for all sorts of stuff like babysitting, book tickets, write them professional letters ect ect, I know I deserve to be better to myself but saying no to people is not in my vocabulary, I even have physical proof of my neglect my knees are so dry from not even giving my self time to put lotion on after my quick PST's showers I take(pst is pits, slits and ****) one day I will ...Good Question now I'm crying great thanks...(lol)

I wonder whether it might not be a singer who I have enjoyed for more than 25 years whose music has accompanied me through my 20s and 30s and even my 40s.

I am not a "teeny-bopper" so I would never join a fan club or write him an email or anything like that. Maybe I should, though. (I just buy the albums!)

Very few have heard of him. His name is Michael Franks.

I really enjoyed Sassy's answer to this question. It's a shame that she is unlikely to see my comment and be "complimented" by me, but in the spirit of your question, it would be nice if she knew that I noticed, but it would also be much too forward for me to find a way to draw her attention to my answer!

Just one person? Being highly asocial, getting a compliment out of me is akin to pulling teeth. So here's a blanket statement to cover everyone I've slighted:

For all the people who have endured my snarky ways, with the grace and compassion to refrain from smacking me around, thank you for your superhuman patience. The kind-hearted humanity that you display for the shortcomings of myself and others occasionally gives me hope for the future of this species. And I am truly humbled in your presence.

Now, as long as you don't expect another compliment untill 2010, all should be good.

My mom I don't think I have ever thanked her enough for all that she has ever done for me. My mother is a wonderful person when I was little my parents divorced and my mom worked three jobs, went back to school, and managed to raised three children. She can do anything and maybe if I try my hardest I will get the opportunity to become at least half of the woman that she is!

I would like to thank the Academy...no seriously, I would like to thank everyone I have met here on Y!A in the past two months. I signed up as a total lark, NEVER expecting to find myself involved in so much fun and frolic. Sure, there are a few "wet blankets" but they are few and far between. The time I have spent GLUED to my keyboard has been time well spent, it is like therapy when I get in one of my gloomy moods. It's like "Calgon, take me awaaaaaay!".
You are lovely, lovely people, and I wish you all the best!!

I never wait until it's too late. I know how good it feels to get a little acknowledgement once in a while, so I strike while the iron is hot.

Darn, have usually gone out of my way for people. You know, the "GoldenRule". Seems Stevie Ray was onto something when he asked whatever happened to it.
