If you want a new vehicle and can afford it, I say "Go for it!" Then again, if your vehicle is running OK, at least you don't have a payment every month. Many times though, when a vehicle gets that kind of mileage, it can start "nickle and dimeing" you to death, and if a major component lets go (engine, transmission) the vehicle isn't worth fixing. It can be a tough decision! I generally trade @ about 50,000 miles, which is about every 4 years for me. Good Luck with your decision!

This depends on SO many things. A properly maintained truck should be good for much longer. What kind of truck is it, what year, and how well have you (or previous owners) taken care of it? You will probably have to spend some money soon for repairs above and beyond regular maintenance, but it would be much cheaper than buying a new truck. The bottom line is, do you want a new truck, and can you afford it? Then it's up to you. My truck is 17 years old, beautiful, and has 106,000 miles. I spent about $3000 in repairs in the last year, and almost everything under the hood is brand new, except the engine. It is ready to go 100,000 more.

I NEVER buy NEW cars. You lose over half your money in less than 4 years. If you want something different...Take some cash plus the value of your truck(assuming it is paid for) and buy something different for cash in that price range. Absolutely the BEST way is to buy cars when they are 4 years old and sell them at 7. A 4 year old car will only have 40-50,000 on it, still be under extended warranty, and be new enough that it doesnt break down regularly! Plus it only costs HALF what a new one does!
If you are considering a newer vehicle, do it SOON. The value drops off trememdously once your truck passes 100,000 miles. It is a psychological barrier for many buyers that wont buy something with over 100,000.
Be sure to pay cash for whatever you buy! They ride better when paid for!

It depends on the manufacturer. Hondas last a lot longer and are worth more than other cars even if they are over 100,000 miles. If it's something else like a mitsubishi or a subaru, it probably needs to go at 100,000, it depends on what kind of truck you have.

Well, I would run the truck you have now. Take the money that you would spend on payments and save it until your truck pukes, then BUY a new truck outright. No interest or payments!

I would say, if it has more than 80,000 miles on it, and you think you can get a good deal on something with less than 20,000 miles, then go for it.
