ive been challenged as a Christian that the only reason i dismiss evolution is because i believe the bible to be true and wont examine the evidence of evolution.. well here i am. is there a missing link that connects humans back to a common ancestor to monkeys ?
when i studied evolution in school the missing links were "Lucy" and "Neanderthal man" and others that were exposed as absurd and just plain lies.. why should i take the next missing link seriously ? please show me the missing link that gives you faith in the fossil record.. thanks

There are fossils of homonids that have existed and perished. There is also a correlation in these getting closer to "us" as time moves forward. You must remember that the amount of time necessary for such drastic change is much larger than most can comprehend. Our species has only been here for a very small fraction of time.

There have been very few fossil hoaxes in archaeology. The missing links you mention are not missing because they have been found along with many other fossils that show the path evolution followed over millions of years. No one who understands the evolutionary and scientific process needs to have "faith" in the fossil record because it is there to examine and see for yourself. And although some creationists will say that because there is a missing part of the chain in evolution, you have to dismiss the entire concept, that argument seems ridiculous when you consider that there is no evidence at all for creationism. It takes a great deal of faith to believe in creationism but it only takes a little common sense to see evolution as fact.

There never was a missing link, only a missed link. If this is true, then will there be a next human appearance or genetic setup? If evolution is really a fact, then why did we stopped evolving? How would we ever know when to stop changing from one specie to another? Should we expect another change? Then to what? I think this is another problem that scientists have to find out and what the evolutionist should add to their list of wonders to be discovered.

"Missing link" is an inappropriate term when referring to a transitional form not yet discovered in the fossil record.
"Missing" usually describes something that was supposed to be present but has disappeared for unknown reasons — if, for example, a favorite book suddenly disappeared from your room But you wouldn't describe the book as "missing" if you had lent it to a friend and expected it to be gone.
The same arguments apply to so-called "missing links." Biologists know that fossilization is a chancy process — most things that have lived on Earth are eaten or rot away before they can be fossilized.
Very few organisms wind up in situations in which fossilization is possible and have body parts that can be preserved in fossils. Thus, biologists expect that most intervening steps of an evolutionary transition (such as vertebrates' invasion of the land) will not be preserved in the fossil record. Occasionally, we get lucky and discover a transitional form that has been preserved in a fossil — but that does not imply that its ancestors, descendents, or other organisms that once lived on Earth are "missing."

OK go to the African Congo and bulldoze the rain forest and then dig everything up and that is where you will find your missing link. We believe that we evolved from the same common ancestor to chimps because chimps are the most similar animals on the planet to us both physical and genetically. You are more genetically similar to a chimp than a horse is to a zebra. Saying that we evolved from a common ancestor to a chimp is a logical conclusion based upon the facts we have but all living things evolved from one of the few early cells that where formed in the prehistoric sea.

How about nlook at the evolution from the bible?
Did Giants came from Adam and Eve? Or you may show me where it says GOD created Giants?
There are many examples of evolution right in the bible . But to notice that you will need to read the bible. You can use that evolution process started after got create a few. I don't think you will be betting your life that every living creature ( including microbs, insects and so on) where made by GOD at the same time so Adam can name them.
If poor adam had to name everything he would not have a time to try the fruit of knowlege.
Peace
Therefore GOD exists.

There is no such thing as a missing link. As a matter of fact, no complete skeleton has been found; only bits and pieces. So you are correct in standing up to those Evolutionists.
Congrats to you and stay strong. For more information, check out www.drdino.com. Dr. Ken Hovind taught high school science and he discusses a lot of stuff about Evolution.

Well-that's just it.....the link is "missing". Not only between man and his supposed ancestors but in all species-there is no connection between different kinds of animals. Every time one shows up-it turns out to be a deliberate hoax or a serious mistake. But everyone soon forgets fakery.

Search for your 'missing link' by looking at genetics.
The fact our DNA sequence shares more than 95% similarity with most apes not to mention other, less alike, species suggests we are all from a common ancestor.

We're all humans. We make mistakes. We tend to believe everything we hear. I don't think we'll ever know 100% one way or the other.
Just keep on believing what you feel is right.
