my mom is reduing my room decor she said i could pick
either its a surprise or i get to help. its for my birthday what should i choose and why?

This is the fun part!
Go buy a few "decorating" magazines- Or really any kind of magazine that will showcase rooms. If you don't want to buy some, then go to the library and look through the ones there.
Each room that catches your eye, take notes on what it is you like about the room. Is it the brightness? Is it a certain style or color combination? Then go get a few paint samples. Once you see the colors you've chosen up on your own wall, you'll be able to make a better decision.
Seems like doing this together with your mom would be more fun than a surprise. Happy Birthday!

How about leaving hints? Leave sticky notes all over your room with these hints. They might read "no pink", or "love the beach look", or "need a desk/office space", etc.
You might clip pictures out of magazines & catalogs of ideas for your room.
Look in paint departments & take a few of the color chips you might like & hold them up to your wall in daylight & evening light!

Well, it really depends on what you like and what your hobbies are. What kinds of things that you enjoy, while you are in your own space. Try to picture what would make you feel good when you first open your eyes in the morning and right before you fall asleep at night. Some thing that just makes you think, "I love my room!".

Help her because you'll learn something for future use. My mom did that for me years ago and I'm never afraid to use color or redecorate my home. I also "antiqued" my furniture and it all came out great! Use a piece of art or something (fabric, wallpaper) with all the colors you love in it. Pick out 3 and go crazy!

perhaps a faded purple colour. the place it is not to woman and and you replace it as you become old. perhaps use some green accents in the room and perhaps some brown. once you become uninterested in which you're able to desire to do purple and brown as a colour scheme. those are basically some innovations.

I would go with earth tones like browns, reds, and off whites. if you want it funky, try bright colors like pink orange yellow red. do what you like!!
