I sometimes have that problem with my daughter. Seems she doesn't hear me when she's on the computer. I'll leave for work and tell her to have the dishes put away before I get home and I get home and they are still sitting in the dish rack. Seems to me she could have taken 5 minutes out of her precious day to do something useful. I don't ask her to do much around the house so I am not being unreasonable.

If washing the dishes is a chore you've been given, and you neglect it, you are making more work for her. All members of a family need to chip in and do chores arround the house, mother's are not the only ones who should care about it.
If she never asked, but just expected you to do it, it is a little harder to work out with her. Sometimes mother's get overwhelmed by everything they have to do, so that a little thing that you 'should have noticed' becomes a big deal. Try talking to her calmly about what it is she expects you to do while you're off this summer.
This is one of the ways you prove to her you are becoming responsible enough to get those extra priveleges you've been wanting.........

No, she is probabaly just hurt because she ask you do something simple and you didn't do it!
Look how much parents do for their children.. not including the emotional tole on them of worrying about them all the time, and trying to get dinner done, the groceries bought , the house cleaned, errand ran, bills paid, etc..
You don't realize how much that helps when they are done,, so she can come right in to a clean kitchen, and it is so much easier to have it clean so she can cook. I ask my daughter/and son every once in a while to unload the dish washer, and what do u know... when I go to load it up for the dinner dishes,, it is still full and they are not around,, so who gets to do it?? ME> It "makes me mad.
I know how she feels,, if only y'all would mind, and do what u r suppose....lol
(but i am sure you do most of the time.. )

Your mom is not angry about the dishes. She is angry about you showing her disrespect by NOT doing the dishes when you should have. No she is not crazy. She is trying to teach you respect for authority, responsibility and commitment. Listen to your mom.

She's not mad a the dishes, she's mad because her life is meaningless and her no-good children that she has devoted her life to won't even lift a finger to help around the house or show her some attention because they're too busy playing on the computer. She's probably lonely. Get the hint.

If I told my child to wash the dishes, and s/he didn't do it, I'd be pretty mad too.
You have responsibilities living in a house. Just like your parents have to go to work and earn a living, you have things that are delegated to you ... and you have a moral and ethical obligation to do them.
If you were my child, you would be punished, and grounded. What makes you think that you can blow off a chore like that? Are you THAT special?
Do a reality check.

No, you should have done the dishes, it would have taken 20 minutes out of your life and helped your mom who works very hard to keep the household together.

I get upset when my child doesn't do his chores. Maybe instead of typing on here, you should do your chores.
If the worst thing that happens to you is that your mother is angry because you didn't do the dishes, grow up! What else do you have to do all day??
