Consult with your prescribing doctor on this feeling that you are having. Like all anti-depressants, it should be lowered slowly for your body to adjust to not using it.

Well, when I was on prozac it made me feel murderous, like I would really like to kill people. Very bad medication in my opinion, for myself. You can have withdrawals from anything but w/d from prozac is not as bad as you think. Doctors just want you to stay on the meds a lot of the time, but I have found that Omega 3 fatty acid supplements and vitamins & minerals, and amino acids help a lot. GNC is my friend, not the pharmacy industry. Better living thru chemistry my butt. You might want to get some Milk Thistle, and Dandelion capsules to help clean your liver, help get the deposits of the medication out of your system, and drink a Lot of water, the full 8 cups a day, plus some... Proper water intake is very crucial for brain health. Even slight dehydration messes with your brain chemistry and makes you irritable, tired, depressed. NOT POP, water.... Good luck and hope you do ok. Like the above posts, check with your doctor first, but like I said, they usually want to keep you on meds, not take you off. Fair warning.

Prozac is a Seretonin Reuptake inhibotor used for anxiety and panic. You need to go to your Dr. and ask for an anti depressant.
You really need to consult with a Psychiatrist for you medication as family doctors are really not up to date about psychiatric medication. He might also switch to a different SSI(paxil, zoloft).
Do not try going off your medication by yourself, you will definitely
have withdrawl symptoms!

Honey if you think it makes you more depressed then by all means stop taking it. I had a wife once who took it for eight yrs. she had to attempt suicide before the nut psyc. doctor took her off it. I know that this stuff is only a crutch and when you decide to walk then you should walk.

you'll definately have withdraw symptoms, so you'll need to consult a doctor and he'll wheen you off of it.
look at the side affects listed on your prescription information and you'll find depression and suicide listed (along with a bunch of other stuff).
you need to consult your doctor about this.
